iPhone 6s Plus lag iOS 9.0.1

I'm using a 128GB iPhone 6s Plus (AT&T). Screen is unresponsive from waking the device after it's been locked for a considerable amount of time. It takes about 3-5 seconds before it finally starts to respond to touch. Can't go into any app or change home screens during this short period. After it starts launching and switching apps very quick and snappy but this happens a lot right out of the box. Another repeating issue is navigating the settings menu. The selection hangs for a bit before advancing to the next screen. Who else is experiencing this? Wasn't there a public beta? Come on Apple fix this.

Hopefully I’m not speaking too soon, but this issue is now resolved for me. I spoke with Apple support and they had me do a compete restore of the phone through iTunes. Since then, no lag. Specifically, I can unlock the phone via TouchID and the screen is immediately responsive were opening camera (or phone) would previously stall for 1-3 seconds

Did they have you start over completely or did they have you create a backup, restore the phone through itunes and then put your backup back onto the phone? Also what were your issues specifically? After unlocking the phone with touch ID did your service signal, time and battery percentage all appear immediately at the top or did they take a few seconds to pop up? I have also experienced delays after unlocking and clicking on an app. Thanks

They had me back up, restore the phone via iTunes and then I put the backup back on the phone. Specifically I had issues with apps being unresponsive after unlocking the phone. I honestly can’t recall if the battery & carrier symbols appeared or not (although I would *think* I’d have noticed if they weren’t there). For me the phone unlocked as expected, I would click on the (e.g.) camera and nothing would happen for 1-3 seconds *after* which the camera would open normally

I have the same issues, iPhone 6s Space Grey 128GB

I have restored thru backup

I have restored as NEW

I have have Reset All Settings

I have tried iOS 9.1 beta 4

I have Exchanged the iPhone and repeated all steps above.

Still have the same issues.

Interesting if I turn of Passcode and TouchID to unlock the issue goes away.

I have seen mention that this issue seems to be prevalent on the TMSC chip and not the Samsung

I just has a TSMC chip iPhone 6s Plus Space Grey 128 GB swapped out to try and fix a Bluetooth (BT) issue. I had that phone for 2 weeks and never had any performance issues with it. It worked great, other than the BT problem.

Apple swapped the phone out with a Samsung chip version. This version freezes nearly every time I unlock it or try to use Apple Pay (double press home). I've also had it freeze randomly when typing.

Definitely seems like a hardware issue considering it affects some phones and not others. I'm going to have Apple swap my phone again, because the current one is nearly unusable.

Here's an example (notice also the vanishing status bar in addition to the complete unresponsiveness of the phone):
