iPhone 6s Distorted Sound

Hello All,

I have just received my iPhone 6S (iOS 9.0.1) and i'm really enjoying the new features, however I've noticed that when I have my Ringer Volume turned up full there is a slight crackling/distortion when playing sounds from the bottom external speaker.

The best way I've found to reproduce this issue is by going into settings, turning the ringer volume to full (having the ringer volume anything below full will stop the distortion) and then playing the ringtone "Opening", the speaker will make a minor distorting sound at the high points of the ringtone.

I've spoken to a friend who has a 6S Plus and they have reproduced the same issue, I would like to ask if anyone in the community could try the ringtone above and let me know if they get the same problems with the speaker?

Thanks in advance

Craig

Today i spoke with an Apple engineer, told me that every his Apple devices has the same issue and he will do an alert to Apple.

i Discovered another problem with audio, but this time the ricever is involved. when i call some people i hear a strange vibration on the ricever, i'd have a telefon number in which answer a virtual operator (it's the number of my currier) an with this voice i can always hear this vibration, the problem is that is an Italian number and i think nobody of you want to waste money in an international call, but if somebody want to try the number is : 0039 070 948020

I confirm this defect iPhone 6!

I changed the phone is under warranty, and I was given a new one. But this defect is and on a completely new device! This problem is well known among the people of Russia, but Apple still does not want to accept this a software defect. Many People change for a number of new phones in the service center, but the result is the same, there is a crash during a conversation !!! Even at this forum not created one topic with this question, but the developers still can not eliminate this defect since April - after the release of firmware ios 8.3. On firmware 8.2 everything was OK!

Dear developers, hear its users !!!!!

I apologize for my English, Google Translate))))

I am at my second 6s.I returned the first one because of the distorted sound but the problem still exists.I returned to the store and the genious adviced me not to returne the second one if it is perfect in any other aspect because i might get one with a more serious problem..at least the one i have now has the tsmc chip, the first one had samsung..i try not to make a big deal out of it,i have more serious problems to worry about, and try to enjoy the phone. If apple make a recall for our phones it will be ecxellent, although i do not think so.Also i can confirm the distorted sound of the virtual operator at the number you mentioned. At my case it does not vibrated, but i do not know if the distortion i hear is a problem of the phone or bad signal..

Ivagelis ...... you need to try playing Ages Obel (Chord Left) from iTunes or You Tube, or any other piece of music with piano or acoustic guitar content.

If the speaker distorts, crackles or otherwise at 75%-100% volume, your phone is affected by the faulty speaker issue.

My current 6S (and the previous 5, other faulty units) has a Samsung Chip so it would be interesting to know is your TSMC version is also affected - as this may be the source of the issue.

Looking forward to your update

The distortion at that song is present at both phones. It was present at the first one with the samsung chip,it is present also at the one wih the tsmc chip.I just listened to a piano song called "struggle for pleasure" and to a randomly chosen song with only acoustic quitar,no distortion.the distorion is absent at the opening ringtone ant the sms tone, but is hearable at the slow rise ringtone. So,i think that it is indifferent of the cpu chip. But,despite of what apple states,i notice a significantly better performance i terms of battery with the tsmc.

This problem is much bigger than ringtones and piano songs. it is poor quality or incorrect hardware used. Trailers sound terrible. podcasts like security now are terrible. netflix or itunes videos voices are distorted. apps that use video like cnn.. apple needs to come clean and recall asap. what a mess. or provide a phone that works. someone must have one right? my 3rd is going back and staying with apple. back to iphone 5 for me.. 😟
