iPhone 6S Screen Scratches

Anyone else experience small surface scratches on their 6S? I knew it was an issue with the 6 and only one day after owning the phone, I notice small surface scratches. Phone has only been in my pocket, not exposed to keys or anything.

I have to say since I got my 6s 128GB when it was released I have not one scratch. I think the raised glass design is more likely to get scratches however than say the 5s because that had flat glass and had a slight lip round it almost with the metal bezel. Treat your phone gently and it will be fine, but its a tool, it will get scratched and chipped its a phone they get used, its not something to put in a box with cotton wool. Apple users seem to think because they pay more the phone should be better, that's not the case, we pay more because its Apple but they are still made by the tens of millions in china, so just get used to it. Do you think Ferraris and Rolls Royce's don't get chips in their paint from stones on the road? They do just like every other car on the planet, the thing with a Ferrari is it is built better than say a ford focus, an iPhone and Apple is just a brand and is built the same as any other phone out there quickly and cheaply.

I purchased a new Iphone 6s about 2 months ago. Today, I noticed a small scratch in the middle of the screen. When I looked closer, I saw about 6-8 hairline scratches on the screen. I was shocked to notice this, as my old Iphone 5 lasted over 2 years without a single scratch. I told my wife and she replied that she noticed a few small scratches on her Iphone 6 last week too.

I was told, starting with the Iphone 5, the glass was much more durable and you didn't need a screen protector to prevent scratches. My old phone was proof! I always keep a soft rubber case on it for extra protection, but never had issues with surface screen scratches. I was even surprised when my mother finally got an Iphone last year and bought a screen protector. I told her, "those aren't necessary anymore".

After some reading, this doesn't seem to be a one-off case. I am curious to see if Apple announces any factory detects for this new 3D touch screen.

I'm in the same boat. I got my 6S on launch day and the screen is scratched to pieces. I've had the original iPhone, 3G, 4, 5, 5S and now 6S and it's only on the latest one that I' notices the screen get so scratched. I always carry it in my right trouser pocket with the screen facing in.

My big concern is that it will cause some issue when it comes time to upgrade to the 7 using Apple's upgrade plan...

I saw allot of messages about people complaining about there screen. I have had my phone for a month. After a couple days I noticed a deep scratch and hairline scratches in the screen. Never ever had this with my two year old 5s. I am deeply disappointed. The Genius Bar did not help me. It's a user problem, they claim. I am curtain it has to do with the glass. I feel that they are not taking these complains seriously. I promoted IPhone always. Now I have to warn people. I also have to cover my phone with a case (so no apple martketing) It's a big waist. In two years when I can extend my contract I will go for another phone, unless Apple agrees that the quality was poor. And that they chance my glass. In Holland they dont want to do iT...

Ya, my phone has done this too. I had to get my phone replaced twice already because of an issue with the battery and then the LCD screen itself had an issue. I have had this phone for a couple of months and there are lots of little scratches all over the screen and I only ever have my phone in and out of my pocket. My iphone 5 and 3Gs didn't ever scratch like this.

I got the 6s three days ago and have kept it in my pocket or on my desk at all times and it has developed a lot of tiny scratches, especially around the edges. Going to get it replaced and get a screen protector on it from day one.

This is a perfect example of planned obsolescence. I don't want to imagine what the phone would look like after a year or two without a screen protector...
