I Recently updated my iPhone 6 to iOS 9 and have been using the news app frequently. But every once in a while I'll open an article and it will crash the app. Sometimes it crashes after a few seconds and other times it happens instantly. On some occasions it will crash, but if I open up the app again and go back to the article, it will still crash

This helped me for a while. The blank white screens have returned, though, when clicking links within articles. I've made the decision to stop using Apple News for now. There are some as-intended behaviors that I don't like as much as other news aggregators. The flaky nature just pushed me over the edge. I'll try it again someday.
