Absolutely, I am having challenges. I had a 4s, which had much better reception. In my office, I had 75% signal and now I only have 1 bar. I can't use data and my calls have been dropped. I have a 5S as well, which sits right next to my 6s. The 5s has 4 bars, the 6s has 1. Two different carriers, but I never had the problem with the 4s!! I have tried with and without LTE on for voice.

APPLE, PLEASE HELP!

This is really frustrating!!! I come from Samsung Galaxy products, I have had them all, S,S2,S3,S4,Note,1,2,3 and 4, finally decided to swap to apple since once thing I have from Android is reliability. This is my first experience with apple after a long time and so far I'm disappointed. Since day 1 I'm having the same issues with Signal. It fluctuates up and down regardless of the area. I can tell you is not the Carrier since my previous phones did not have this issues.

Still, I reset the phone twice, install IOS9.0.2, reset network settings and replace the Sim card. Nothing, I'm still getting the same thing, haven't been able to replace the phone since has been more then difficult to score a genius bar reservation with Apple Store, After a week waiting for the reservation which was on 10/20/15 at 8:20PM, the store close early!!! The next early appointment/reschedule is for a week from now!! This is CRAZY - call but they cant help, either wait or risk it by just walking to the store. I have already worked with Tmobile and Apple Tech Support on this, Heck, I do Tech Support as a leaving!

The problem is either a cheap Antenna that is not able to deliver specifically with 4GLTE or (my theory) the new 7000 Aluminium they use for this S model which turns out to be Thicker, to prevent the Bending issue they had with the 6 and 6 plus.

Yes is works, by disabling 4GLTE completely, you gain a more stable signal, in areas that previously was getting 2 dots signal I'm now getting a solid 4, the Internet speed is good considering that is just 4G (4-7 Mbps download and around 1 Mbps upload ) plus the battery life increases since LTE is disable, however 5Mbps on 4G VS 20-25 Mbps on 4GLTE is a BIG trade!!!

Please Apple!! someone to look into this issue and do something about it!!! this is NOT a cheap phone for us having to put up with this!

I just took my phone into the local ATT store after spending 1.5 hours on the phone with technical support. I was going to return my phone but the agent asked what seems to be the trouble. After explaining my problems he smiled and said it is an easy fix. He went into settings/cellular/enable LTE and selected data only. Reboot and it was fixed! Clear voice again! Apparently ATT is installing voice HD but there are not enough towers working. The data LTE is up but not voice.

I've just updated my 6s to ios 9.1 and still no fix, I used to be able to get 2/3 bars in my house and now it's no signal and if I do get signal in my house, people can barely hear me, so I have to either get people to call via facebook messenger or imessage me when I home. If it's a hardware issue, wouldn't Apple have to issue a recall, seeing as software updates won't fix it?

I'm also having this issue with my 6s. I'm with T-Mobile and the Apple tech person that I spoke to is having me to go an Apple store to get a new sim card. Based on the other comments here I'm assuming that going down there won't do me much good. But, to get a replacement I will have to jump through all of Apple's hoops first. This is slightly disappointing. I just switched to an iphone from an android. I like the phone in every way except this issue but at least the android NEVER dropped calls. Hopefully this will get resolved. I can't imagine that Apple hasn't noticed a pattern on this by now. As a side note, I don't get much improvement when using wifi calling. I personally believe that this might be a software issue because this started for me the day I bought the phone and lasted for about 10 days. It then mysteriously worked fine for another 2 weeks or so and then a few days ago started up again. I would assume that if it was hardware related then the problem wouldn't go away, even temporarily. On the other hand, if it was a software issue then all phones would be having an issue. Oh well..

Iphone 6s Plus here again. Before replacing the phone last week, IOS 9.1 came out and I updated the phone. The signal got even worst!!

I have done so many thing trying to get this fix. Last Saturday I went to the Apple store since it looks like some people got their issue fix with a phone replacement, so I decided to give it a shot.

I went to the store and after 3 hours I got a new phone - Unfortunately, the signal issues still remains. (Tmobile carrier)

I dont believe is a network coverage issue since my girlfriend has the Galaxy S6 Edge and has Full 4GLTE signal been at the same spot as me, and I get 2 dots Signal.

I have use the phone without a protective case thinking if it was the case, same results. Reset the phone as new device. Still the same - currently running IOS 9.1 - I have disable Voice under 4GLTE, Data, Keep the phone in 4G , Replace the Sim card, Contact Tmobile and had then reset the network and location on their end to pick up a different tower - nothing, still the same.

The only thing that appears to work a bit for me is the following : I went under Settings, Cellular, Enable LTE Voice and Data / Disable Data Roaming, (some carries recommend to have it enable since supposedly help ) however i found that when Data roaming is enable, when making a call, it will dropped from 4GLTE to just 4G. Also under carrier, Turn off Automatic and manually set it to T-mobile.I did tested with other towers like Verizon and AT&T but the signal goes to ****. The phone should pick the designated carrier will also connect to other towers near you which can be from other carriers. Apparently it does not prioritize the designated Network Carrier. In my case Tmobile. Since then, no drop calls and a solid 3-4 Dots every where. Still not the great signal i have seen with other devices like the Samsung note 4 or S6 Edge. for sure something wrong hardware/software related.

Sorry for the long reply

Just bought the 6s four days ago, really sad to be experiencing signal problems as well... Used to have the 4s and never had any trouble with signals anywhere apart from in long tunnels..

Now I am having especially big trouble at work, where I sit next to three large windows (good thing, right?), people I talk to tell me I am constantly breaking up and eventually just have to hang up...! This is obviously a disaster, the shop from where I bought the phone are telling me they have to ship it to apple tech, I can have a borrowed old Samsung smartphone during this period, all my contacts, text threads etc are in iTunes and iCloud, not having access to this just does not work for me. The problem is also noticeable at home, and most other places as well so far. Usually 110-114 dbm, at very best I once had in the 80's and a few times 93-98 dbm. Apple, please find a fix or make a statement, I am obviously not the only one experiencing this and need to find a plan for what to do, I/we have paid top top money for your phone, the single most expensive of the regular phones in the market, quality needs to be a given...

Yeah, this is ridiculous. Wide known problems being talked about here and they have released no statement acknowledging the problem or letting people know they are working on a fix. If there might ever be a time to switch over to Android devices, now would be that time if one were inclined. One would assume a company like Apple would be all over damage control and get ahead of this to keep people on their product and save future sales instead of letting those people flee. Instead, no comment from them on this will do just that. I for one am very close and once I jump, I am not coming back, I have to assume others would feel the same way. Very disappointed.

I too had an iPhone 4s for YEARS and couldn't wait to be able to trade in that phone for a new 6s . . . . I had no issue at all with my 4s, just wanted the "new, bigger, better model". Well, I switched to a 6s and now am dropping calls, people say they can't hear me or that I'm breaking up CONSTANTLY, especially in my home, which is REALLY annoying!

After reading some posts here, I disabled LTE and went from two bars to three. Just used my phone in house a few minutes ago with no issue. This shouldn't be necessary and I'm hoping that Apple sees and fixes this problem!!!!

Nov 7, 2015 12:02 PM in response to justinfromnorthglenn

Solution that worked best was to change Voice and Data from LTE to 3G in Cellular settings. When LTE is chosen, my phone would go from having 5 bars to none then to 5 bars again then to none. The cycle just kept repeating until the phone became useless for calls and data. It might be that the LTE bands aren't compatible with the phone's software.

I am a devotee of Apple from day 1. Literally, since the 1980s when my brother took apart his first computer.

Now, I am ready to quit... cannot fathom, but the 6S was the last straw. For now, I will return the (already exchanged) 128GB iPhone 6S and go back to my iPhone 5. I hope to find adequate external storage for my data... the primary reason I got the 128GB phone was that my MacBook is not reliable to store my precious music and photos.

I've fallen out of love with Apple. SO SAD. I know no other company will live up to my expectations. I miss Steve.

My wife and I as well as my Dad all just upgraded to the iPhone 6s. Previously we had 2 iPhone 5s and 1 iPhone 5. We are all experiencing reception issues where we go in and out while staying in one place. We also seem to have lower signal strength than we did with our previous iPhones in our houses and in general. Has there been any response to this from Apple?

I spent a long time at the Genius Bar this week. The employee I worked with was very kind and helpful, but the reception issues are not solved. He told me that the LTE feature is "the bane of my existence" because customers keep coming in with reception complaints, and it's simply due to the LTE setting.

However, I personally have tried the various settings on LTE and it makes no difference at all. The 6S is not getting decent reception. AT&T has not been helpful either. They told me there were "tower outages" in my area but now that those have been fixed (if that was even true) the reception remains poor.

The final suggestion from my Apple Genius was to set up my 6S as a new phone, in case software issues had been transferred in the restore. I don't want to lose all my data, and I don't get what that has to do with the phone reception.

Nov 12, 2015 3:40 PM in response to ping23

Don't waste you time on that. They make me do that 3 times. It does not due anything at all. I have done everything that is out there to be done trying to solve this issue. Nothing at all. Read my previous notes. The problem is the actual phone, the materials they use on the construction. I have replace the phone for a new one with the same results. one thing i noticed is that both phones I got are with the same processor (N66AP — Samsung)

I don't know if the construction on the antenna follows the same path as the #ChipGate but the results in signal were identical.

The only thing you can do to help maintain the signal a bit stable is to disable Voice under LTE settings, what this will do is drop the phone to just 4G when you are making a phone call or receiving one, that way the signal strength is better. Also make sure Data Roaming is disable. something else you can try is to manually select the carrier (Only do this if you are certain that your network is reliable on the area you'll be around)

Other than that, absolutely nothing will work. Trust me I work IT Support. the only thing i haven't try is the ridiculous Antenna strength stickers is out there on ebay/amazon to increase the signal, cause they are trash! other than that, just wait, go back to Iphone 6 / 6 plus or wait for the Iphone 7.

I tell you, Ridiculous! :/

I think I managed to fix the issue with my phone at least, it was my phone protector case blocking signal apparently (how a thin piece of plastic can do that is beyond me) but I was having no signal or sos constantly, but as soon as I took off my phone case, 3 dots instantly. So if you have a case on your phone take it off and see if that does anything cause it fixed it for me :/
