iPhone 6s Plus battery percentage getting stuck

My iPhone 6s Plus battery percentage gets stuck frequently. Like for example, it will say 87% all day, and then I'll plug it in for an hour, and it will still say 87%.

The only fix I've found is to power the phone off and then turn it back on. Then the percentage will update correctly, and will usually continue to update properly for awhile. But eventually it gets stuck again.

In the 3 days since it was delivered on Friday, I've had to reboot my iPhone 6s Plus at least four times to fix this issue.

I have a problem with this issue also. I have an iPhone 6 Plus and an older iPad and both are not charging at all with any cable that I have. The phone is now flat and even after a full factory setting re-set it is still the same. Are Apple aware of this issue?

Is the phone battery actually flat, or is it just showing me it is flat?

OK. Does anyone here play candy crush or any other games where you can change time and get more lives? If you do, this MIGHT be the issue. Software is confused when you change dates and times and doesn't know how to show true battery life. Pretty sure they can fix with update in the future. Or I could be totally wrong. I have an appointment with the genius next week so I'll hear him or her out. My real concern is this Samsung vs TSMC chips that are in our phones. Apple used 2 kinds of chips and I have the Samsung one. TSMC is supposedly better for battery life and runs cooler according to the techie youtubers. Apple... Arg!

It's a problem for me too. I have replaced my iphone 6s already and same problem again. Playing a game and percentage shows 80% (which I know is wrong because I've been playing for over an hour) but reboot and its at 30%. I charge it all night and wake up to it at 67%. Do a reboot and its at 100%. It is interesting that there was a mention of candy crush and changing the date for more moves. I have been doing that and have the issues. I'm going to stop doing that and see if it resolves itself. On my first 6s I called and described the percentage problem and they said it must be a bad phone. So I exchanged it within 2 days of having it. First day and it's a problem again. Get yo sh*# together apple!

So... I had my genius appointment today. Before the appointment, I played candy crush and changed the time as usual to get more lives. Had my battery percentage stuck at 38%. Charged the phone for 2 hours before the appointment. When I arrived at the store, I restarted the phone by pressing the home and power button and like magic, the percentage was at 100% Genius was like "what happened?" I told him, "I don't know, you tell me!" He had no choice but to swap my phone out. He wished me luck and here I am. First thing I did was download lirium lite and check to see if my "new" phone had the Samsung or TSMC chip. TSMC baby! My previous phone had the Samsun made chip.(check out chipgate on youtube. pretty funny) I played some more candy crush and changed the time again to the future and back and same glitch. Definitely a software glitch! Bottom line, I am happy to have the non samsung chip on my phone. Apple should not have done this...
