We have ordered a 2016 Subaru Outback & would like to have whatever is needed for Apple Car Play to be factory- installed. The Subaru salesman does not know anything about Car Play. Does anyone know if the 2016 Subaru Outbacks can be factory-outfitted to run Car Play? I'd rather not change the audio system in a brand new car to a 3rd party Car Play compatible one.

Subaru cars do not have support for Apple car play. The support is for Mirror Link which is pretty much the same thing but only work for Androids.
Of course. Current and currently announced Subarus do not have CarPlay. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed for 2017 models.
Only the 2017 Impreza was built on the new platform, and it's the only one with CarPlay.
