Apple Car Play

We have ordered a 2016 Subaru Outback & would like to have whatever is needed for Apple Car Play to be factory- installed. The Subaru salesman does not know anything about Car Play. Does anyone know if the 2016 Subaru Outbacks can be factory-outfitted to run Car Play? I'd rather not change the audio system in a brand new car to a 3rd party Car Play compatible one.

This is exactly what I posted except longer. I talked about some of the problems about using an ipad such as blocking the rear camera view, but it also makes your car a juicy candidate for grab and run Theft. A junkie will not hesitate to break the glass, grab the iPad, and run off with it.

For the same reason you don't leave an expensive item out in plain view when you leave your car, you would not want to mount one in your car using magnets or Velcro.

You can remove is and hide it from view, but that one time that your forget...smash! You have a broken car window and your iPad is stolen.

Well... apparently they need the iPad more than I do. Lol...!

The helmet support acts as a stay. It only keeps the bottom of the iPad secure so it won't slide down and into the shifter. The iPad is easily removed if you find yourself in questionable territory and need to seek refuge from the roaming bands of theives. I take mine if there's a question. And it does not block any vents or controls or screens. Only the hatch covering the USB plugs is blocked so if you need to get in there it's a bit of a pain. User uploaded file

CarPlay is available in 2017s models that just came out. Test drove an Impreza yesterday that has it. It's a whole new head unit.

I own an outback 2016 with the old head unit and am S.O.L. Like everyone else to not get mirrorlink working when the salesman said it should and I paid for it. I'm Not a litigation guy but it seems to orth researching to see if any class action suit has already been started. Anyone know of one?
