iPhone issues after iOS 9/9.0.1 update

Hello! I have been having multiple issues with my iPhone 5s after the iOS software updates. I will list the issues under whichever update I noticed they began.

iOS 9 Update

-Battery drain -- expected and not too terrible, but enough of a hindrance to have me charging the phone by 7 or 8 pm (I have already taken measures to stop this before the update. I have the screen brightness turned down, I have shut off many of my apps from refreshing in the background, I make sure all apps are completely closed out of, I have the screen lock set to 1 minute without activity, etc.)

-Missed Call notification issue -- I get a missed call, go to the call log to check it, close out of the call log, and the notification remains there. It takes multiple times of opening and closing the call log and/or flipping between the call log and my voicemail or contacts before the notification will go away. Very annoying!

-Text ringtone -- After the update, my texting ringtone does not always play. It is very hit or miss. I have to check my phone periodically just to make sure I am not missing incoming text messages because the tone does not play.

-Glitches -- phone seems overall more buggy after update, becomes slow and glitchy when going from one app to the other or closing out of all apps

-Touchscreen malfunctions -- trying to hang up on a call or use speakerphone is hit or miss because the touchscreen does not respond to my taps sometimes

iOS 9.0.1 Update

-Updated on its own -- I never updated to the new version on my own. My phone completely died and when it powered back on, the update had begun on its own. There was no way for me to close the update.

-Settings -- Every time my phone is shut off and turned back on, the Settings app automatically starts up. I have to make sure to immediately close out of the app after the phone has powered back on or else it will just keep running in the background.

-Many of the issues after the initial update remain such as battery drain, Missed Call notification, glitches when switching between apps or closing them, and touchscreen malfunctions.

Does anyone have any fixes for any of these problems or has anyone experienced the same ones?

Thank you!

Hi,

I am having the worst experience with the touch after update to 9.0.1, 9.02.

It has become too sluggish, even I tap on phone icon, camera icon and it responds after 2-3 secs.

The hard button on iphone does not work sometimes, and it virtually hangs until I try multiple time doing power on/off

with the hard button on right.

Sometimes I am not able to receive the phone call, as the touch does not work...

It is behaving just like those cheap samsung phones.. really disappointed.

I am on my third factory reset AND a replacement phone (coincidence that I was having screen flashing issues and they replaced it).

Both my iPhone 6 Plus and my iPad run like garbage. Apple will never say anything about their being issues until they have a fix, then it's, 'we have a fix for some of your complaints'... never acknowledging there are even issues.

People used to joke that Sony put 'self destruct tech' in their electronics that caused it to break after warranty was invalid. I am starting to wonder if Apple has lines of code in their iOS that causes any phone/iPad that isn't brand new tech, to start running slugishly so people go out and buy new phones or iPads. I typically adopt a new phone each year, but now it's like I'm being forced to because the only phone I have played with that doesn't run like crap, is a new 6S.

8delahaut,

I have iPhone 6 plus , bough last year in December, 30th.

With in a year it is tunring to be junk phone ...

I see so many people have still issue after following the factory reset suggestion.

Factory reset and restore is time consuming with very less chances of working.

There are lot of problem apart from sluggishness.

-- Sometimes iphone does not connect even after tunring on Wi-Fi.

-- It shows home screen with icons and text on black background

-- It fails to show the display even after pressing the button on the screen multiple times,

you need to do the press centre button and button on the right side multiple times to see the display ..

It is getting worse than android phone...Not worth to spend 800 $.. better to get cheaper .. use and throw phones 😟😟

i bought my iPhone 6 in March This year and after the update it's slower than a F****ing turtle.

ITs really annoying me me that I wasted so much money on a device that f**ked up just after a short use. Keeps freezing up, I hear my phone ringing but I can't answer it because it freezes. Call drops despite having a full network signal. All apps have gone slow. Even my iPad is feeling the same emotion. And same goes for my MacBook. The new update has messed up everything. What is Apple doing about this???

Hi I have the same problem since I did the the first update in I phone (5C) I start having problem, first with iOs 9 and then things got even worst with the second update 9.0.1 the phone is definately not working properly,

-calls keeping cutting off or going completely mute both ways.

-siri does not recognise any command, the microphone is working but does something completely different from what was asked

-calendar alert is not working and is showing the wrong information it shows the second alert before the first alert, for example if if have an event at 30/11/15 at 3pm you set the first alert 1 week before the event and the the second 2hrs before the event. After the upgrade this is not possible anymore we are not possible the calendar will show first alert 2hrs before and the second alert 1 week before, Does not make any sense.I spoke with apple twice but even the person on the phone could not understand what was happening and want s to convince me that it s ok the second alert to the faraway from the event!!!

- the batteries runs out quicker.

-takes long time to switch on

-update took a lot of memory

-screen freezes all the time.

- I also have a Mac and the same happen after I Upgrade the safari is taking a very long time to load the information. I have start using chrome is fast and reliable. Safari breaks all the time.

I had contacted apple several times but still not happy with the solutions.

I feel that sometimes after Steve is gone we are going down the hill!!!!

Can apple do something to sort this problem out asap it's very annoying

I can't find the thread I posted in, but people have done what I did to fix mine and it fixed them too

"reset all settings" do it TWICE. After it reboots, once, do a reset all settings again! This fixed me, but I did both things shown above.

Also, in addtion, IN keyboard settings, I think in accessibility, change the lowercase keyboard to upper case, or vice versa. Whatever it's currently set on, CHANGE IT to lower or all caps. They key here is changing it to what is wasn't set on originally.

I too am facing the same issues has anyone made any progress in resolution of these problems. In desperation tonight I erased the phone completely via reset, which was an ordeal as the phone periodically launches apps and keys text, so it took several restarts to get to the right screen and complete the reset. I reloaded the oldest back up I could find. I can't tell which IOS is running as I can not get the utilities to run at the moment. It is a little more stable but something is still very wrong with it.
