Attempting to copy to the disk Macintosh HD failed. An unknown error occurred (-54).

I am trying to sync my new iPhone 6S to iTunes via USB. I keep getting this message: "Attempting to copy to the disk Macintosh HD failed. An unknown error occurred (-54)." Can someone please help? I've already repaired Disk Permissions via Disk Utility on my Mac and also Reset all Settings on my iPhone to no avail.

I just deleted the xml file in iTunes and it worked!

That fixed the sync and backup issue from my iPad to my mac. Thanks so much!!
