iPhone 6s, iOS 9.0.1
I have two iphone 5's and upgraded them to IOS 9 without any problem. My new 6s, however, has crashed twice in the first 24 hours. I reduced my apps from 300 to about 250 and have kept it in my case upside down during the day. I charge it every nght all night and have not had a problem in one week. I'm not sure if anything I have done contributed to its stability. I had the same reaction as others, "I need to rely on this phone." I can't take it out and find it crashed hours ago and I missed calls or texts.
Same issue on 2 different phones - 6S and 6S+. Both have frozen in the middle of charging (5 times for 6s, and 3 times for 6s+). Home button gets warm when this happens. The only fix seems to be holding the sleep/wake and the home button for 10 seconds to do a hard reset.
This is the first time since the iPhone was released where I've had to use something other than my phone as an alarm clock 😐
I can report the same proble, as this happened After the latest iOS Version 9.02 it seems to be an hardware issue
iOS 9.1 Beta 4 is online
maybe it solves the problem

I do t get why everyone is using ios betas even Apple them self will tell ya Beta's are not meet to be used on a device you use everyday they are only meet to test out on a backup device.
Just to chime in; same issue here.
Have 2 iPhone 6S, one 64GB, one 128GB. Both on 9.0.2.
The 64GB has had the issue twice so far (with the really really hot home button, needing reset). Hasn't happened once yet on the 128.....

I am not using beta software of any kind. Some people here mention that they are using beta software, but certainly not "everyone". This is not a problem with a beta software. If it is not hardware related then it's a problem with live iOS 9 or iOS 9.0.1. I just upgraded to iOS 9.0.2 and I'm holding my breath.
IM running 9.0.2 and it still happened.
I was not saying everyone who reported this problem is using beta. I was just saying this problem or not you should neaver use any beta siftware unless its on a backup device thats used for testing
I Think it between hardware and software of 2 gen touch id issue. If i turn off touch id usage, my 6S never shutdown again
im using official iOS 9.0.2
Happend to me twice. Phone 6S 64GB - Home button not hot but just powers off. Hard reboot brings it back to life. Is this a software problem ?
not using beta - its on 9.0.2
I have the same issue with my 6s plus 64gb I have the samsung chip
Has anyone checked the Diagnostics and Usage data reports under Settings -> Privacy. There are JetsamEvent reports that someone techie might be able to interpret. From what I can see there are VM thrashing and memory errors immediately preceding such shutdowns. That might suggest software conflicts and would explain the overheating immediately beforehand.
have looked but it means nothing to me
