I just installed El Capitan and the first thing that I have noticed is that the normal sounds that apple mail puts out do not come out of the speakers. iTunes works fine but not then mail sounds. Any help would be appreciated
I cannot see a box to turn on the whoosh sound for outgoing mail in el capitan in Mail Preferences?
Hello. First post. Hope it's not a necro 🙂
Anyhoo just upgraded to 10.11.5 from Yosemite & no sounds neither mail nor trash. iTunes ok.
Changed a few settings & got all my sounds back but incoming mail sound only played on deletion not arrival.
Went thru preferences in both Libraries & deleted anything that had the words 'mail.plist' in it.
Incoming mail sound now plays unless I send myself a test email. Then it only plays on deletion as before.
Ah well it's a partial win at least.
