Why is it so slow to download El Capitan?

DNS server would select a different server which either has better bandwidth, less load, or is not routed across an internet backbone border gateway that has limited capacity.

I'm in Australia also. I missed the news on the cable. Can't see it anywhere on news sites. Do you have a link out of interest?
