Exchange calendar not working on El Capitan

Hi.

Ever since I've upgraded from Yosemite to El Capitan, the Exchange calendar is no longer showing up on the Apple Calendar.

Is anyone else experiencing issues with Exchange account in general with El Capitan?

Many thanks.

Ok, apparently somewhere Apple fixed the problem with an update. Magically today it is working. After trying everything here I could not get Exchange and the El Capitan Calendar App to sync. So why it suddenly started working is a mystery, but I suspect a quiet patch from someone.

BTW, the "Solution" proposed here is hardly a solution. Many of us do not have multiple Mac's to copy settings from. I really wish there were a way to downvote a solution on these boards to indicate that the solution is not in fact a real solution.

Fixing Mac Calendar to work with Exchange on new El Capitan OS

When El Capitan launched, the Mac calendar stopped working when linked to Exchange accounts. This happened to myself and others in our office. I escalated the issue to Apple and their engineers provided me with a fix, and it worked for my colleagues as well. See below.

Follow these steps exactly as written:

  1. 1) Turn off Internet connection and all apps running in the background. Then, Opt+CMD+ESC keys and force quit anything else running. At this point, Finder should be the only thing showing.
  2. 2) Top Menu, click Go and then hold down Opt key. Library will appear. Click to Open.
    1. Drag Caches and Calendars folders to desktop
    2. Open Containers and drag to desktop
      1. Com.apple.calander.agent
      2. Com.apple.ical
  3. 3) Open System Preferences and delete the Exchange account
  4. 4) Reboot
  5. 5) Turn off Internet connection and all apps running in the background. Then, Opt+CMD+ESC keys and force quit anything else running. At this point, Finder should be the only thing showing.
  6. 6) Top Menu, click Go and then hold down Opt key. Library will appear. Click to Open.
    1. Drag Caches and Calendars folders to desktop
    2. Open Containers and drag to desktop
      1. Com.apple.calander.agent
      2. Com.apple.ical
  7. 7) Turn on Internet
  8. 8) Add Exchange account
  9. 9) Open Calendar

The calendar takes a few minutes to sync with Exchange.
