Fcpx 10.2.2 crashes after installing OS X El Capitan

followed instructions and no luck. It loads up and then I get the spinning disc.

luckily I don't keep to much stuff on the Mac, so I think a complete reinstall is what I need to do.

any other pointers would be useful.

where do I find them to remove them? Bearing in mind I can't actually get fcp run at all it hangs immediately.

I installed the El Capitan upgrade on my 27 in. iMac (late 2013) and now Final Cut Pro X quits frequently (e.g., every 5 to 10 minutes) while I am attempting to edit a few optimized clips (e.g., trimming, color balance) for a 5 minute video project. I am not using any add ons. Seems like there is an issue with FCPX and the new OS. Any advice would be appreciated.

How do I remove the AU plugins?

Hello everyone, I've just seen your discussion and I've same problem.

FCPX crashed 10 times this morning and everytime I was trying to stabilize a clip. I never had that kind of problem before, and this my first editing since I run El captain.

I installed the new OX El Capitan system Saturday (October 3). After that I installed Final Cut Pro X for the first time into my Macbook Pro. Every time I click on the icon, the Final Cut Pro X logo pops up and stays with the jog wheel spinning. I't was a big mistake downloading the operating system. Any word about an update being developed?

So after my disappointing upgrade, I backed up some key files (photo library, I tunes etc) and then did a clean install of el cap.

all went fine. Reinstalled the various apps including fcp. All worked. I then replaced my photo library. Tried fcp and it crashed. When I removed the library file to the trash fcp works, if I put the library file back whilst fcp is running it all continues to run fine.

I have also made a completely clean installation & only installed FCPX with no filters or anything - still crashing when performing either a stabilisation or optical flow analysis.

For what it's worth Im on a late 2012 iMac with 3.4 i7, 24gb ram & NVIDIA 680MX 2gb graphic card if we're looking for a common hardware theme here!

Yup, like Coldsweat, I did a clean install of El Capitan and I too am getting crashes during Optical Flow and Stabilization analyses and I have yet to reinstall ANY third party plugins. Im thinking GPU, perhaps NVIDIA issue. I have a 2012 MBP retina with a 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M, a close relative to coldsweat's card...

Thanks for this link. I just sent feedback that the latest version of FCPX doesn't work on the latest OSX. Hopefully Apple will update one right away to be more compatible.

What doesn't work? Do have a specific failure using the application?
