My support community account was deleted??

My account was deleted?? No notification or input on why. Who do I contact to find out why it was disabled and to get it re-enabled? At first I was getting a bunch of errors any time I tried logging in or posting. Then I tried different browsers. Then I tried clearing my history and cache. Then I tried logging in from my phone. Then I accessed a thread that I posted in from my email notifications, and my posts are completely gone.

What's the deal? Profiles don't just delete themselves.

If you were banned for cause, you would have received an email with " Apple Support Communities - Temporary Ban " in the subject line - preceded by some number of emails regarding " Apple Support Communities - Post Removed by Host " - OR - your account has been associated with SPAM posts (unceremonious removal of posts/questions)

The " ASC - Temporary Ban " email can be replied to ( i.e., NOT from "noreply@apple.com" )

Use the Reply To feature in your Mail client to contact the Community Hosts directly.

That doesn't appear to be the case. I never received any emails stating that I was banned or that my posts were being removed. I even went so far as to read the entire ToS and there wasn't anything in there that I could have violated. I found other threads on this same issue on other sites, so it seems to be a system error of some sort. The mods reached out to me, so hopefully they can restore access to my other Apple ID - if not restore the entire account.

OK. Hosts will sort it out. A "Glitch du Jour" is quite possible here.

ÇÇÇ also stands for Çuriosity Çilled the Çat - to help any others in the future compare their experience to your own:

What exactly alerted you to the fact that your "community account was deleted??"

  • Trying to login - Alert/Error message in your browser?
  • an email ?
    • from what email address?
    • what exactly did it say?
    • etc.

buenos dias

PS: is this thread from "your wife" concerning this issue? > Banned Apple Support Communities Account

The error was: "The page you tried was not found. You may have used an outdated link or may have typed the address (URL) incorrectly. Please visit the main page of Apple Support Communities for links to discussion areas"

or something to that affect. Every time I tried to log in the system would take me in a circle. I think I received some type of error in a red pop up box as well, but I don't remember what it said. I couldn't figure it out, so I went into my email to access a discussion that I had a notification from - a discussion that I had typed a post in - and my post was gone. I eventually, somehow, managed to find some other threads that I posted in and my postings were gone from their as well.

Then I logged out of my other browser and tried to log back in, only this time I was told my account is disabled and that I should contact my system administrator. Since I'm using my own PC I am the system admin, so that error didn't make any sense.

I'm not married, but I did see that thread after I made this one.

    1. so I went into my email to access a discussion that I had a notification from - a discussion that I had typed a post in - and my post was gone.

  1. Common 'ambiguous' PAGE resulting from forum glitch(es) regarding login state = false
  2. the red box alerts are 'possibly' helpful in exactly what they say - but they disappear after a few seconds
    1. posts CAN be what we fondly refer to as "Phantom Posts" email with the content, but do not display when visiting the thread
      1. IF Phantom Post is indeed the case, it can be fixed in two ways:
      2. reply to ANY post with " . " (a period - we all know what this means), OR
      3. go to <https://discussions.apple.com/user-preferences!input.jspa> and
        1. change the "Discussion View" mini-menu current choice to the other one >
        2. then [Save} (leave it open in a TAB so you can change it back)
      4. go back to the Phantom Post thread and reload if required
    2. THIS is HAPPENING OFTEN TO ME LATELY
  3. Apple is very security conscious - policy seems to be 'save us from ourselves' - IF you have NOT received any emails from Apple - it is most certainly a glitch
When you get the 'account disabled' alert, pay CLOSE attention to the UserName inthe red box. If it belongs to some other user than yourself, it is the "Banned User" glitch that many folks have experienced. Solution is to try again with your normal credentials.
  4. Congratulations... 😉 - coincidences are few and far between - your two issue's similarities may indicate some issue 'behind the curtain'
