El Capitan will not restart or shut down after I installed it on my MacBook Pro. It simply hangs up and does nothing and I have to manually shut down by holding the power button down.

If someone doesn't know how to do that, here is how. Follow this instructions:
1. Open System preferences
2. Users & Groups
3. Click "Start Up Items"
4. Select Wacom related software and click the minus button (if your not able to select it, click the "lock" located in the left-down corner of the window to be able to make changes).

Make sure there is no Wacom software listed in Log In items.

Ive tried several different things that everyones posted on here including login item and I don't have Wacom. It just seems to be so hit and miss with everyone one thing works for one or two people another works for someone else there seems to be so many variables to this problem. :-(
Well. Wacom seems to be the most common cause. Then there was an audio add on mentioned earlier in this thread. That doesn't mean there couldn't be another cause. You could run EtreCheck and post your report so it can be looked at.

IF you have Wacom / Bamboo tablet, uninstall it and the problem will be fixed. Mine was fixed by doing that!
Uninstall Bamboo / Wacom drivers and it will be fixed!
Have uninstalled Soundflower too. Now it works. Maybe after all it's an issue with audio-/video-plugins… thank you for the hints.
