Can't play a song I own without Apple Music subscription

If that didn't help, there's one more solution.

You guys might hate this, but there's always the iTunes Library clear. Go to:

Windows - C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Music\

Mac - Open Finder, Menu Bar, click: Go>Home>Music>iTunes

There's a lot of files, but there's a file called iTunes Library.itl or whatever the extension is..

Delete that. (By that, I mean move it to a folder where you can still access it.)

Open iTunes and click Agree and you should see your bought album in there. If not, try and delete the album in Finder in which it contains the song files downloaded. Then follow the last solved answer.

Click on your name at the top right of iTunes, then click "Purchased". Re-download any content you want from there.

Although if it was downloaded when you deleted the iTunes Library.itl, there's a high chance that it's still there.

I have the same exact issue. I had purchased music on Itunes. Downloaded to PC and sync and will not play.

I think its a problem because the music I had purchased before wasn't purchased under these terms, requiring a subscription. Also my new music bought also doesn't play on my phone when synced.

I can understand if it were DRM free as it was before but it isn't. Back to DRM and no converting the music with an outside app with ffmpeg is hard on me.

Granted I only buy things not lossless somewhere else on Itunes.

I've benn have long the same problem as well for the last month and I just now gotten to that point when I noticed then and I don't want to do the same thing either about doing the subscription to listen to my own music.

I haven't read the whole thread but it worked for me by simply going into Settings/Music and turning iCloud off. Go back into Music, select a song or album etc that you have owned previously and click the cloud download button. All good! I figure that Apple want your money to be storing your music on their server? I have also found that if I now go back to Settings/Music there is now no option to turn on iCloud? Go Apple!?!? So, so frustrating.

You mean you added the song from your iphone music library to your Itunes, then you synced that song back to your Iphone and it worked? How exactly you transfer a song from your Iphone to Itunes?
OR you mean you converted that song into another file, same quality, then synced it to your iphone, and it worked?

You're kidding me right? It has taken 11 years and 11,000 songs to amass my library. I just cancelled my subscription and I am freaking out at what will happen by the end of the month.

Try going into settings, Music, Honesharing. Turn Honesharing back on. You'll need to sign in with your App,e ID. This should fix it.

I'm having the same issue but sadly have no idea on how to fix it.
