IPhone 6s 128gb space gray lag after unlock

I have replaced my iPhone once already and am experiencing the same issue. My iPhone will lag for 2-3 seconds after I unlock it with Touch ID. It lags when I use the slide option as well. I have tried everything from setting up new, restoring from a backup, restoring through iTunes, and restoring through iCloud. Nothing seems to be doing the trick. The phone is amazingly fast once it is open, but that 2-3 second lag is very annoying. I never had this issue on my 6 so I am a little disappointed. I've talked to apple and verizon and both are saying they haven't heard of the issue yet. I know this issue has been brought up before on the threads, but has anyone found any new way to remedy the issue? I really don't want to swap phones again, but if this lag doesn't disappear I will be calling Apple Monday for a replacement.

Its not an issue with your phones hardware. Its iOS 9. You just have to wait until it gets fix in an update. Your replacement will be the same. I have both the 6S and 6S plus and have the same issue.

At this point I really don't know what to do. I would suggest calling Apple to let them know. They are "unaware" of the issue from what I understand. I have replaced 4 phones and none of them have been different so I don't know if a replacement would solve the problem. Posting on the discussion boards isn't getting their attention either. This has been the most awful iPhone experience.

I bought my iPhone 6s a month back in India. Since then the top menu (consisting of time stamp, battery and network) disappears for atleast 2-3 seconds whenever I unlock my phone using the touch id. Yesterday, I finally decided to go to the Apple service station here, first they formatted my phone and asked me to use it for a day and see, because the problem was solved. Then the minute I reached home, and restored the data from iTunes the problem started again. Today again I went there, asking them to keep the phone for a day and give me a proper solution, because in this one month I have restored and rebooted my phone n number of times. At the service station today, they took my phone to check and in the end told me that its a bug, which I am yet not convinced. And asked me to wait for an update. Later in the evening I took the phone to the shop from where I bought it, and that person was using my phone after a restore, shockingly he didn’t face any problem while he using my phone. He asked me to make a new apple id, which I did and the minute I started using the phone the issue was back all over again inspite of making a new apple id.

So, I really dont know whats happening with the phone, should I wait for IOS 9.0.3 to come or should I just get my handset changed. Because its just annoying me now.

Unfortunately I don't think a new phone would fix the issue. It might though. I just know I have tried 4 different phones and set them all up as new (even tried bypassing Apple ID logins to prevent data retrieval from my account - it was a completely blank phone) and the issue was there in every single phone. The whole wait for the indexing to finish solution has kind of been debunked too because I've been dealing with this for 3 months now and it is the same every day. Maybe by the time the new iPhone comes out it will be done indexing and work right? I should be hearing back from engineering today. If they give me anything worthwhile I will post.

I just finished collecting logs for two straight days for engineering. Hopefully they can tell me something soon. The advisor I am working with is calling me tomorrow. This whole process over the last 3 months has been ridiculous. I don't know why they haven't fixed an issue like this that is so prevalent. Hoping for a fix on the next update or beta.

Since I don't remember this lag happening when I bought the device, I have uninstalled the last four apps I downloaded. Now I'm installing all of them each at a time and checking if the delay is due to any of them. So far I have no lag. These are the ones I deleted: Castro, 2do, Copied and Workflow. For other people with this problem it could be related to any app installed. I'll keep posting if I find the culprit.

Engineering suggested I do the same thing but start from a blank phone. I was able to replicate the issue after 4 restores and setting the phone up new each time. For some reason the issue occurs right out of the box for me each time. They thought it was from a third party app as well, but when I was able to produce the issue right from a clean wipe they just had me record new logs. That was two weeks ago and they still haven't figured the issue out. I am going to try going to the Apple Store today to see what they say.

It is a strange issue. My phone randomly started working good the other day and then I did a hard reboot because the battery was draining really fast and the issue came back in full force. I still haven't heard from engineering about what it could be. I visited an Apple Store today and spoke with a service technician who told me the issue was "within spec". He was not very pleasant to work with and acted like he knew everything, but still couldn't help. Every Apple person I talk to acts like I have the golden unicorn phone for this issue like I am the first and only one with it. Tried the new beta that came out today and still no luck. I've pretty much given up and I guess I will live with it until an update comes out.

If your phone has worked right it must work right all the time. It makes me think of an issue that occurs randomly. I have not had the unlock lag and disappearing status bar since I let the battery drain to 10%, charge it overnight and uninstalled some apps. It's now 3 days since then and I don't even want to connect the phone to iTunes. In any case it's strange that you even have the problem starting from a fresh install.

I did a complete restore of the current iOS and re downloaded all of my apps via iTunes. This took 4 hours BTW! Still no cure for the lag.

I Do notice there are no issues while I'm connected to wifi and no issues when the phone is charging... Anyone else?

ALso, the phone gets really warm. I'm noticing tiny dimples show on the back. Not really dents, more like waves. You can only see them at an angle. Could this be a heat issue from the battery? They are located just left of the iPhone script and along side the left towards the camera.

The lag is markedly improved for me when my phone is plugged in. I haven't seen any difference hooked up to wifi though. I spoke with the senior advisor I am working with today and we found out that my 1st,2nd, and 4th phone all came from the same factory of origin. I am not sure if that could be the contributing problem? My 3rd phone I only had for two days before frustration set in, so I really don't know if that could have been a good phone or not. They are currently looking into it as I post this. I was also told my case has been passed up to software from the engineering team. I should have a response by tomorrow I hope.
