iphone 6s camera lag

I’m experiencing an issue with my iPhone 6s where the camera app is sometimes very laggy when starting up. Most of the time things are fine – I open the camera app and instantly see images from the rear camera. However, on occasion I will get either the last photo taken showing or (more often) see really slow updates (like a frame a second) from the camera for 5-6 seconds before it becomes usable. I haven’t seen anything online about others experiencing this issue, so it would be good to know if this is an isolated hardware issue or something others are seeing (and likely to be fixed by a future software update). FWIW I have done a complete restore on the phone via iTunes without the issue being solved.

hello everyone. with now ios 9.3.5 the lag hasnt disappeared unfortunately.

I love this phone with every aspect of it but this lag keeps driving me crazy as i have been missing some urgent moments to shoot and capture and it has lagged when i have opened it from time to time.

normally, i am not a fan of swipping phones every year, i would like to stick to 6s for as long as it works ( at least 3-4 years ) and stays in shape for technological usefulness. but i cant go on with this camera lag.

i know there will be one time i need a crucial, very important second i must definetely capture and shoot with camera and this high tech, over priced phone will leave me in the lurch.

Dear all,

All i have are bad news. I have written 3 emails to my assigned apple senior about my open case and he has not contacted me yet. I am terrible angry. I am going to put an official complain about this problem. AND I am going to sell my iPhone 6s ASAP. And when I checked that the new iPhone 7 has not this problem with the new camera, probably I will buy it.

Regards everyone

well it seems that as this lag only occurs on some of iphones throughout the world, apple doesnt pay attention to it. ios 10 wont fix it as some of you mentioned here.

i am not impressed with iphone 7 at all, i wouldnt swap it but if apple keeps ignoring us for this matter, there will be no choice but swap it with a 7. As i have a 6s with 64GB, swaping to a 7 with 32 gb wouldnt cost me a fortune.

but once again, i am not keen on changing my phone.

apple just take a look what your customers say about their phones!

coming updates after ios 10 need to fix this for sure.

Hi all, it seems that the 7 model might also have this problem. As I was watching the hands-on videos with the new device, the following has occurred to me: on this video on 2:29 you can notice that the device is showing for a short instance of time the previous camera capture and then quickly switches to the current live frame, which reminds me the behaviour of 6s. So I would be really careful.

I would not consider this as a long lag, Ladin007. Also in your video the previous capture which is stuck for 1-2 seconds is blurred, which is acceptable personally for me, and I do not see here any problem, especially the new Plus model has 2 cameras to launch, it may take 1-2 seconds.

What is however not acceptable for me is that iphone shows in crisp and clear the previous capture, which was not even taken with the camera. And this is how my longer lag problems with iphone 6s were starting. At the beginning clear images of some captures which were not even taken by me, this image is freezed for 2-5-10-15 seconds and then camera goes live showing the current live frames. This type of behaviour is shown in the video posted by me (with however a shorter freeze time, 1 sec or so). In the video posted by me, the phone is starting to resemble the behaviour of my 6s which is: crisp and clear images which I even never took and this image is freezed for some time. The freeze time can vary and increase, therefore one should be really careful if considering to buy the new model.

This open an interesting Question.

Is this lag associated to making calls present in other iphones than 6s?

i Dont have access to any 6 or 5s to do a quick

test as stated in a previous post.

If it is present i bet that Iphone 7 will have it because it will be software related regardless of its hW.

IF there is no lag in those you may have hope.

IN my case i will stay with the 6s. being able predict the lag is a key point That makes this bug less disturbing.
