iphone 6s camera lag

I’m experiencing an issue with my iPhone 6s where the camera app is sometimes very laggy when starting up. Most of the time things are fine – I open the camera app and instantly see images from the rear camera. However, on occasion I will get either the last photo taken showing or (more often) see really slow updates (like a frame a second) from the camera for 5-6 seconds before it becomes usable. I haven’t seen anything online about others experiencing this issue, so it would be good to know if this is an isolated hardware issue or something others are seeing (and likely to be fixed by a future software update). FWIW I have done a complete restore on the phone via iTunes without the issue being solved.

ok I just experienced the same problem. picked up my phone and opened the camera app. had a picture stuck and under exposed on screen for 5-6 seconds...

then took picture.

then for the next 6 tries no problem at alll

Will try to reproduce again.

before tis test i took pictures 6 hours prior.

but the image that was stuck wasn't the one i took earlier in the day, it was an image of what was infront of the viewfinder as the camera opened.

Will keep ya posted

Besides the obvious creepy factor of the iPhone screen showing an image from a location at which I never even opened the camera app, it seems like the issue has to be related to live photos somehow.

I also have sometimnes the problem with the camera app showing an old picture or a very dimmed live picture, with very slow frame rates. I also suspect the live photo feature (which I usually have switched off) to be involved in the problem.

But the scariest thing was when it showed a picture of the moment when I unplugged the lightning cable earlier that day. This means the camera is randomly (or maybe even "continuously"?) taking pictures without user interaction or consent!

i am having exactly the same problem with my 6s 64gb. i called the apple care to ask about this and they told me it could get solved after the official 9.3 update which i guess is about to come in few weeks time.

it is scary to see any image that never had shot when launching the camera app. i feel like my phone is recording everything all day and whenever i launch the camera app, it shows a random freeze image.

i restored as a new phone and after 1-2 days it started again.

i dont know if its related to live photo feature or anything else but i hate to see it happening. i want a camera with i can be sure of instanly capturing the moment. not waiting 2-3 seconds or seeing weird images.

please anyone let us know how you are dealing with this issue.

Everyone,

just forget it! the fxxxxing Apple not gonna fix it, they just care about the sales numbers , not the users. I've been reporting and complaining about this bug since iOS9.0, 9.1beta, 9.1, 9.2beta, 9.2, 9.2.1beta...... over the online chat on Apple website, Apple website's feedback, hotline in Macau, Hong Kong and Singapore.... almost every 2-3 days calls to them, all of them just blew me off , no one ever ever ever given me any helpful reply over the past 3 months, I asked them when to fix it, they said no users ever reported, I sent them the video, they said they sent to FUXXING engineers, I asked them any reply , they told me no reply from engineers, I asked them any solution(such as downgrade OS, refund, exchanged with old version iphones) they told me no authority to do so, I asked them what they wanna us to do . they always keep saying no such bugs ever reported from users. I told them check this link, they said they are not allowed to see other website......

Apple, go to Helll! Fxxxk you!
