iOS 9.0.2 causes iMessage to act weird

I have an iPhone 6 and I just updated to iOS 9.0.2 today. When I send an iMessage to my friends it doesn't say "delivered" underneath the message yet they are still receiving my messages. It will sometimes show after sending one text but then stops showing again. It's really starting to annoy me. I have turned my phone off then back on, done a hard reset, reset networking stuff in settings, and I have turned off iMessage and then turned it back on. Please help me! This is really frustrating 😟

contacted apple support, had me turn off imessage, then reset network settings, then after phone has completed that action which appears like a phone reset they had me turn back on imessage. this is all under settings of course. appears to have resolved it somewhat but still testing it with a contact since I've had a mixture of successful imessages saying delivered and some that have been demonstrating the original problem. maybe i need to have the contact i'm texting with do the same maneuver....

I haven't updated to iOS 9 (using iphone 4s on TMobile), and I have been having issues with iMessage since about middle of last week. Messages sometimes go as text, sometimes go as an imessage. In some instances, I can't receive a msg from another iPhone user unless I have wi-fi on and the message comes through as an imsg. Some messages I sent to a friend with an Android phone didn't show up until the following day after I'd sent them. I've shut the phone down a couple of times and restarted it, but issue is sporadic.
