Fuji Xerox DocuPrint CM205 fw doesn't work saying "filter failed" under OS X El Capitan (10.11)

I have just upgraded to OS X El Capitan (10.11). Then the printer I use (Fuji Xerox DocuPrint CM205 fw) keeps saying that "filter failed" and hence the printing job is always stopped, as shown in the screen shot below.

I checked with the Fuji Xerox company website and found that DocuPrint CM205 fw does have known issues with OS X 10.11, but it says that "New drivers and software will be released to support the affected DocuPrint products with OS X 10.11. The current timeframe for new drivers and software to resolve these known issues is for December 2015."

So does it mean that I have to wait until December??????? How about my work that needs to be done during the long period?

Could you just give me some advice? Please feel free to speak your opinions. Thank you.

Might have good news for you people...

My Fuji Xerox Docuprint M205b suffered the same fate after loading El Capitan. After a few calls to F.X. I have been able to get my hands on this beta driver. Worked for me instantly and all functions are operational again. Hope it works for you too.

For those looking for a Driver for the DocuPrint M205 FW, I called Fuji Xerox Printers on 1800 811 177 from Australia or 0800 449 177 from NZ.

They sent me a link to a Beta driver for OSX 11 El Capitan. The link is:

The driver worked for me. I had to do the following to get it to work:

  1. Turn off the printer
  2. Remove current Printer via the System Preferences
  3. Reboot
  4. Install new Beta driver downloaded via the above link (had to allow the Driver to be installed via the System Preferences as OSX 11 sees it as a 'non offical app / driver')
  5. Reboot
  6. Turn on Printer

I can now print (Wohoo!!!), however, checking the Supply / Toner level is not working but thats no big deal as I have another Windows Machine I can use to check that or via the settings on the actual printer.

I have not yet tested remote scanning, however, if that fails, I can still scan at the printer and save the document to a USB Drive.

At least I can now print as that is what I mainly use the printer for.

Hope this helps anyone having the same issue with the DocuPrint M205 FW on OSX 11 El Capitan.
