Just curious, did you upgrade to iOS 9 via iTunes sync, or through Settings on your device(s)?
Interesting that you would ask that.... I updated through iTunes on the Summary tab and did so for all 4 of our iOS devices. I will never update OTA again even if the update has already auto-downloaded to my device (it does that sometimes, &#$%). If the update has auto-DL I go to Usage and delete it. I have a contact high up at AppleCare who has strongly advised me to not do OTA updates. While they work 99% of the time, when they do not they can corrupt your system. This happened to me on my iPad Air and took me many hours to correct as the iTunes backup included the corrupted files. In order to restore my iPad as New I took 99 screenshots (literally) of all Settings and App Configurations in order to do a "visual" backup, so to speak, then imported the 99 SSs to my computer, and then followed them one by one in reconfiguring my newly restored iPad.
OTA updates, in order to minimize the update size, only download the files that are changing - fair enough so far, but in order for iOS to still manage the process, the downloaded files come down with a .tmp extension, the files to be replaced are then deleted and the new ones renamed. This works most of the time but when it does not, serious corruption can occur. There are some on this forum who have been doing OTA updates for years with no issues. However, once bitten I will not do so again. The OTA update resulted in a corrupted Photos App. I spent hours on the phone with AppleCare Level 2 who then passed the issue up to engineering but to no avail. Several "Restores" from backup apparently brought the corruption back every time. AppleCare went as far as replacing my iPad Air with a new one and sure enough when I set the new one from backup the issue came back again. That's when it became clear that the backup was responsible.
Therefore my wife and I will never do OTA again... not worth the risk of spending 12+ hours restoring as New. I have a lot of Apps that are highly configured for my needs and this took time.... Long reply, not what your were expecting, I am sure...
Best,
