Thanks Woodmeister. I think I'll do what you suggest.
I deleted the iPhoto from my applications and trashed it, prior making a backup in a USB memory stick.
I cannot get rid of the message in Application Store that says: This item is temporarily unavailable.
I am happy with the new Photos app that came with El Capitan and works great.
My question is: How can I get rid of the permanent advice in the Icon of my store with a little red number 1, saying there is one update pending. I am not interested in iPhoto, and want to get rid of that advice. Is there a simple and straightforward way to do it once and for all ?
That is what I did, but I keep receiving in the Apple Store the note that iPhoto is available for update, but as I recall I NEVER bought it. How can I get rid of that advice please?
Do you have an external HD that might have a copy of iPhoto.app on it? If so get rid of that also.
Download and run Find Any File to search each of your hard drives (if more than one) for a file named "iPhoto.app" in the file name.
FAF can search areas that Spotlight can't like invisible folders, system folders and packages. If there's another copy of the iPhoto application hiding somewhere on your hard drives FAF will find it.
