Does anyone know how I can disable the Apple news app in iOS 9? I see it's an apple app so I can't remove it. I would setle for disabling it so I'm not getting the feeds supplied to my front page with Siri and nearby suggestions. ThankS.

Do you mean the Today Widget?
1. Swipe left to the Today Widgets interface
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page
3. Click on "Edit"
4. Remove "News" from the widgets list
5. Done and save
How was it disabled? I want to disable it, too.
Yeah the Apple news app is terrible. Regardless of what filters you choose you are fed an endless supply of left wing fake news from WaPo and NYT. Terrible.
Perhaps we have a market for an app that just confirms one's bias and filters out anything that might challenge the reader ... oh, wait ... Faux News and (not-so-bright) Breitbart already have apps.

That is the whole problem. The app does not allow you to select outside their clique.
