Wake on Excessive Wake drains battery on sleep

Ive been having this problem where my computer drains to 0% battery overnight when in sleep. When I'm connected to my router/wifi, the computer never sleeps, wakes up multiple times a minute, and drains all battery. See a sample below:

Turns out, a bunch of people in this forum have had this problem. I've tried everything suggested. Turning off Wifi before sleep WORKS so i figured it was a problem with the computer. But..it seems that me and a few other people have come to this conclusion: Its a problem only with certain routers.

I tested to see if this is my router by leaving my Wifi ON, and unplugging my router. It sleeps fine with Wifi ON and router OFF. So its the connection between the router and the computer that is doing this.

its a Time Warner Router.

Im posting this so Apple is aware of the issue. Has anyone found a fix?

Seems like some people here are using the Time Warner router. Just FYI, I am using a Linksys Wireless-G router. Even with the school network, I have the same issue.

I know some people here have reinstalled the OS. I was wondering though, if anyone have tried reinstalling the OS and only importing the previous user settings, without installing any new Apps? Does this problem still occur?

I am aware that this issue occurs for Yosemite but strangely, it didn't occur for me.

And last night I erased my disk and didn't install the OS. With wifi-ON, the battery was 100% in the morning. So, it's OS level bug.

That's interesting. So you have this issue after you logged in with your Apple ID, without installing any 3rd party software?

That was what 2 different people said on the front page. I have not reinstalled the OS yet because i feel like it would be pointless after reading those comments.

It makes sense, because if if you don't log in or anything on a blank OS, your wifi is not going to connect to the router so it wont happen. It definitely 100% is connected to the router because this doesn't happen to me on public WIFI and coffee shop routers.

Do you mean "100% connected to the WiFi" ? I tried connecting to my iPad Hotspot and put the computer to sleep. This time, the wake reason is different: ARPT: 27880.449415: ARPT: Wake Reason: Wake on Scan offload [HID] [ATC] AppleDeviceManagementHIDEventService::processWakeReason Wake reason: Host (0x01). This reason is the same as some of the posts Re: rMBP 2015 Wake Reason: ARPT (Network).

scan offload is normal,it would happen when you move ur Mac from one wireless zone to another

It is not normal when it occurs every minute, which was happening to my MBP.

One thing I agree with "dontpush" is that this excessive wake issue doesn't occur when the WiFi is not connected to any router/hotspot when put to sleep. I suspect that this issue doesn't appear to some when connected to the school/public network because when the computer is put to sleep, the WiFi no longer connects to the network. My school network used to be like that but now, one can install a network kit that automatically connects to the network. And this seems to be similar to connecting to a home router.

In case anyone isn't certain, this is absolutely an OS bug, and not a hardware issue. That is just classic Apple trying to derail you and not take any responsibility for the flaws in their programming. I have a 15" Mid-2015 Macbook Pro, literally just bought it about two months ago at most. I specifically bought it right before the new OS came out because the last time I upgraded (Mid-2010 to Mavericks), Mavericks completely destroyed my computer and Apple refused to acknowledge it. So I wanted to be able to upgrade to a new OS while it was still under warranty.

I am now experiencing this same battery drain issue, and on top of that, now I'm seeing this when I return to my dead computer:

I'm taking this garbage to the Apple store this weekend. They're not saddling me with a broken computer again.

This is getting annoying. I wonder whether the WiFi guys who said they were going to look at this problem are actually investigating it.

Has anyone installed the El Capitan 10.1.1 update? It seems to have sorted the sleep issue for me (MBP 2015, 13"). Not counting to start counting my chickens just yet though.
