El Capitan - Bluetooth repeatedly disconnects on Mac Mini

after installing El Capitan ( 10.11), the bluetooth keeps disconnecting, then reconnecting.

Sometimes every 30 seconds. Tried to trace any conflicts, but no luck.

Does not matter what bluetooth is connected, it all goes down.

Had to shut down bluetooth, and buy a wireless mouse to replace my Magic Mouse.

is this a known bug?

Well, it's buggy behavior. Occurs on latest Sierra deploy. SMC resets, multiple mice manufacturers, multiple machines experiencing the issue. Hopefully it's a correctable software issue and not a hardware flaw... Looks like this for me, btw, with Bluetooth rapidly toggling back and forth between "Connected" and "Not Connected":

I believe this is the problem. Not sure how to fix it yet though:

my ipad would not stay connected to my macbook pro via bluetooth.

long story... after all this it's staying connected:

- mac upgrade to 10.11.2 (which i don't think mattered)

- ipad upgrade to 9.2

- reset pram on mac (from power off hold control-option-command-R-P and power on!)

- reset SMC on mac (pram reset alone didn't work - at power off press left-shift-control-option and power button - it won't power up but the action does clear smc - then you let go and do reg. power on)

NOW my ipad stays connected via bluetooth to my macbook pro.

however, my whole reason for working on this is because AirDrop doesn't work (although my iPad can see an iPhone nearby) - grrrr.

Hello, there's a test a want to try which is to debug the Bluetooth communication stack, like listening the protocol messages sent between devices in order to understand what could be wrong. Several users have reported intermittent issues, some of those were resolved by resetting SRM in the OS, others by reconnecting the devices one by one. But I think the problem might be in the implementation of the bluetooth protocol in el capitan. Any thoughts? I am considering to apply for a Mac os developer job if I get to that.

The latest update does not fix it for me. I have two wireless keyboards; one old, one brand new, as well as two magic trackpads. One set for work, one for home. OSX disconnects both trackpad and keyboard at the same time about 50 times a day. There is no information in the blued logs about the disconnecting, only that they were reconnected.

EDIT: @Apple: Please disregard the happy duck. I am very disappointed.

Try THIS!

The Fix for my iMac was to remove all the bluetooth connections form the list in System Preferences - Bluetooth. You will need a USB mouse to pair the devices one by one. I too had dropping magic mouse connection and interrupted playback on a Bluetooth v4.0 device in another room. Now everything works perfect.
