iMac 27 late 2009 bootcamp El Capitan

Hello everybody,

i didnt found any solutions to my specific problem. Just similar problems with other mac /osx/ windows version

i have a Imac 27 (late 2009) with OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) installed. My Bootcamp Version is 6.0.0. My intern DVD reader is damaged, so i have an extern DVD burner/reader from Samsung (Portable DVD writer SE-208) installed.

I downloaded the Windows 7 Pro x64 iSO. But with my iMac i need a DVD for Bootcamp. So i burned the ISO on a DVD ( I mounted the image then ctrl + click on the image and clicked on burn "....." image). now i started Bootcamp and loaded the drivers. Then it comes to the partition part in bootcamp and it send me the message that says it has to edit the boot dvd but will not delete anything. I clicked ok and it started to create the partition. Now my mac restarted and a black screen opened with "no bootable device - insert ..........". Now i restarted my mac with OS X again and deleted the partition and did everything again. But still not work.

I have no clue whats the problem. Maybe because i have no original Windows installation disc (i have bought a key without disc) ?

I hope somebody can help me

greetings

Jan

i think i have to surrender. all your tipps doesn't worked for my problem 😟 today i tried it again with the EFI boot and waited about 30 min but nothing happens. Also the bootable usb from a windows pc doesn't work. I just talked with a guy from apple at the "genius bar chat"-thing but he couldn't help me.

for the solution with the virtual machine i don't have enough money right now. So, i will surrender now. but thank you very much again

Hi Kimleung,

As you, I have installed W10 on my iMac 27 late 2009. No problem during installation with USB bootable Windows 10.

But I have problem with graphic card ATI HD 4850. Always black screen when the ATI driver in used.

I must delete driver with console (del c:\Windows\System32\drivers/ati*)

After this, microsoft standart video driver works, but no graphic acceleration: then no games ;(

I try all drivers from bootcamp, from ATI web site...

I see in your screen shot you don't have this problem. Wath is the version of the ATI driver do you have?

Thank you

Christophe
