imovie 10.1 wrapping timeline?
Any idea if this update has disabled it? As I can't go to (view - wrapping timeline) to select it and can't see an option anywhere else for it.
iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), Retina 27" 5k Imac

I used the suggestion of engaging the Shift+ScrollWheel (magic mouse). Somehow it restored the scroll feature. Not sure how or why, but the feature now works as it did in the previous versions.
what does the magic mouse have to do with it?
Not only is this a totally ridiculous move.... so is removing the feature of 'swap project and event'.
Apple man.... WTH????
The stacked timeline opition is there; but Apple did a great job of making it hard to find.
In the project window, in the top right corner, clicking on the icon with three horizontal rectangles [circled in red in the inserted screen grab] toggles between a timeline in linear or stacked view. Apple made the default view linear.
I think thats an older version of iMovie you are using, not the current one. If it isn't then it looks completely different from the version I am on.
Bidge, you're right. I was referencing iMovie '11 & speaking from ignorance re: the Apple version naming protocol [or lack there of.] Hopefully, my suggestion will find a home with others who still have the option in their version; but could not find help. For any others, I strongly suggest dinging Apple with heaps of constructive criticism.
It is ludicrous that Apple continues to remove extremely practical functionality from the core programs that prompt people to buy their OS X products, especially.
Hi. I think we all figured out that this is referencing an older version, not 10.1.3. Just making clear. Thanks, though, for following through.
I had the same problem. Called Apple and they helped me find the setting to be able to view my iMovie Library clips in the long timeline frame that we are used to. There is a "wheel" next to your Search box (to the left of it has a dropdown button that says "All Clips"). Click on the "wheel". There is a toggle bar for "Zoom" that lets you change the frames per second that your whole clip will show in your library. This will give you the previous iMovie clip selection setting. Hope this helps!
The problem is with the timeline not the media area as you described.
We still do not have a solution to getting the wrapping timeline which
is located where you actually work on the movie. Thanks for calling them,
but this is not the solution 😟
