Searching in Contacts doesn't work after iOS 9.1 update

Hello,

I've just updated my iPhone 5S to iOS 9.1 and since then I can't search any contact in my Phone/Contacts apps. I have tried many things like switching on/off spotlight search for contacts+couple of restarts, but it still does not work.

I really don't want to factory reset my iPhone due such a stupid bug.

Does anybody else have the same issue as me?

I have like 15 contacts starting with "po", this is the result of the bug:

Same issue on upgrading to iOS 10.1 from beta 10. My fix was going to contacts/groups/Hide All Contacts/Done and do a search. Next, back to groups/Show All Contacts/Done and back to work as usual

I did a kind of mixture of many of those answers:
1. Turn off Contacts in iCloud and Keep them in your phone

2. Turn off your phone

3. Turn on your phone

4. Go to Contacts in iCloud and turn it on again

5. Go to your contacts and try to search for any one

Voila it works fine now

Just restart your device. in the other hand Turn off your device then turn it on. I had same problem and i solved it simply in this way.

Found the answer, same thing happened to me. Open Settings / Contacts/ Default Account and select your icloud default account. That fixed the issue in my phone

Even I am facing the same issue

Can not search contacts

Most of the times this becomes irritating to scroll while contact list for just having one number

Pls do something for this bug

Try to reset your device. This won't delete your data stored on this device.

This happened with me and its sort of irritating. I have to call somebody urgently and suddenly you cannot find the person name in contacts. I have to restart my phone and then can find the same contacts.

It happened few weeks ago and I sort of Ignored it and restarted my phone, thinking that it might be something to do with the space. I cleared some space on my phone and have now 8GB free space, but it happened again today.

If it is a bug why Apple is not fixing this?
