Searching in Contacts doesn't work after iOS 9.1 update

You need to sign out of iCloud and sign in - that's the only way I was able to fix it.

I know reset can be a painful .

I was also having same problem in ios 10.

Just sign out and then sign in in icloud and then a restart worked for me.

I faced same issue , just Go to Setting >Contacts > Contacts > turn on contacts in all account

Then make restart and check it work with me ..

Somehow this worked for me on IOS 10.11 - Apple 7 plus:

Go to settings>icloud>turn off contacts (will give u option to delete or keep contacts, chose keep)

then turn it on again, then turn off your phone.

When you turn it on, you should be able to find contacts on the search bar.

After clicking option KEEP on iPhone then when we turn on contacts it gives option of Merge.Would have to click on Merg otherwise it will not turn on.Am I right?

I am having the same problem. I tried several things but nothing worked. One more interesting thing about my problem is that I was using 6S when I updated the version. After that the problem started. I thought it might be the problem of the phone so I changed my phone to 7plus and transfered everything from 6S to 7 plus and with the problem also transfered to my new phone. My 6S is working fine now.

I have a problem when i update my iphone with the contact numbers i can not search of finde anything i try a lot of things but nothing work can anyone tell me what to do and how come apple didn't fix this

The clicking on Groups solved my problem just to be clear. I did not reset my iPhone.
