IOS 9.1 issue with contacts and apps

I have same problem and the group trick worked for me. However, I'm so unsatisfied with Apple competency and reckless update. I have lost several hours of my time searching for a solution😟

I Had the same problem, and yes you can rest assure is an ios bug that needs to be fixed.

EVen if you call, Apple tech support will tell you do a full reebot that is a serious pain we all know that, some say fixed the problem some say dont.

I Really did not want to do all that and after turning on and off like three times my contacts from icloud and then reeboting the phone just out of no where it worked again. Even closed the app and reopened contacts to see if that would ruin everything back again and it still works so far. So why not give it a try, specially since I dont have the Groups option, I think is because all my contacts are on iCloud.

Hope apple takes care of this and in the meantime try it, good luck.

Thanks. the workaround about swiping right on home screen works for me. The other group thing I am confused by. I only have one account syncing contacts, so don't see how this group thing comes up.

This is a temporary solution. Once you close the contacts again the problem is coming. The same blank screen appears again. Is any permanent solution coming from Apple. I'm also not able to add new contacts.

I have the same problem and would be great if apple shows a full solution instead of open groups and select to show all, and later unclick it..

Same issue here. Blank screen when opening Contacts. Then closes. I can then double tap the home button and see the app in the cascade, but when I click it, it opens in a frozen state, then shuts down again. I really like to use my Contacts when traveling, but i guess I will have to resort to an android (****, that was hard to say) phone for my upcoming trip. Hope Apple fixes this soon... Contacts is probably the oldest and most useful app as far as Cell Phones go. Kind of like having a car without a gas pedal :-/.

we have to click "group" then "ok" every time for the search to work.

BLank page. Went to Apple Store, restore iPhone from different backups, did soft and hard resets.
