problem searching contacts iPhone 6s IOS 9.1

Hello,

I recently upgraded from my iPhone 6 to an iPhone 6S, and in the process, also updated to IOS 9.1. Now I am having a problem where when I go into my Contacts and Search, I get "No Results" on everything. However, if I go the home screen and swipe to get to the Spotlight search, the search for contacts works fine. I am syncing contacts with Yahoo and Exchange, and both services are updating fine. I tried turning off the Contacts, rebooted, and turned Contacts back on, but still no search functionality in Contacts.

Any thought/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.1, null

Never mind, figured it out.

Went into Contacts, then Groups and unchecked the All contacts, and then rechecked it, this seemed to trigger something that got the search function working again.

I don't know if this helps but I did a full restore and deleted MS Outlook app from my phone. When I looked at the logs the Outlook app had just released 2.0 and I thought that perhaps my contacts disappearing could have something to do with that.

The jury's still out because my phone is STILL downloading from a september backup. Been running about 16 hours now.

Having the same issue. I only have one group of contacts linked to an Outlook.com account so the fixes above are not an option. Spotlight search works but searching within the contacts app does not. I have the exact same setup on my iPad Air with IOS 9.1 and the search function works normally. Has to be a glitch in the new release. Major annoyance tha Apple needs to address -- soon!

You do not even need to check/uncheck. It's enough to go to groups and go back 😁

Stupid thing...

In our case, some problems were solved with change in Settings->Mail,Contacts,Calendars->Default Account in Contacts section.

We changed from "on my iphone" to "Exchange".

After a change it's necessary to wait (usually less than a minute).

That solution was working for few 5s (including our testing 5s), but did not work for 6.

However it's always worth to try 🙂

Glad to find out that Apple is finally doing something to fix this bug. Ridiculous that someone has to discover a "work-around" to an issue that never existed before. Hopefully that new update comes soon...annoying!

Does anyone else feel that Apple's latest updates are bug-filled? The latest iOS (9 + up) seems very buggy and sluggish on my 6+.
