iOS 9.1 causing app store issues

hello, i have updated my iPhone 6s to IOS 9.1, which claims to fix in issue with app store downloads and game center log in.

strange enough, i started having these issues after the update, i never faced it with IOS 9.0.2. now i'm unable to use the app store for any download, and i can't access game center either. i'm even facing some wifi connectivity issues. so basically, IOS 9.1 gave me the issues that it was supposed to solve 😕

i have tried hard resets and restores, i have lost some valuable data and apps along the way, nothing worked. i'm using iTunes on my macbook to install apps for the time being. but any idea how to fix this ? never in 6 years i faced issues with iPhones. so i guess now apple have broken my virginity.

This is even more frustrating. Well I gotta follow this for the whole weekend please people update how long its working for. I am on 9.02 and to get off of it to have a bricked phone would be horrible. Also, I have no idea why I got that email last night from the iTunes customer experience telling me there working on it but there is no ETA and that it would be a fix in an over the air upgrade down the line. It makes no sense when supposedly according to this forum it was fixed and only a server issue. So confused I'm hoping it is fixed but that email really messed up my head here. Please everyone keep posting how long its working for so us in my situation will be comfortable upgrading. Thanks everyone.

Everything's still working for me! I've even managed to do a restore and setup my iPhone as new, which I couldn't do before Because I couldn't install any apps. If I'm still good by tomorrow, I'm letting the tech assigned to my case know to close it. I talked to him last night and he actually sounded kinda dumbfounded as to why everything is working when he hadn't heard from any of the engineers. But, then he told me it looks like this went pretty high up the chain, whatever that means.

I'm not positive, but I think the recent outages could have been server downtime to correct our issue. Or maybe not.

Two of my devices are now working fine after a day.

The tech I was working with speculated it might have had something to do with the certificate errors that plagued some of the developers, and somehow it was all tied in. I dunno...but whatever it was, looks like they might have fixed it.

I think if we're all fine by the time Monday rolls around, we can put this one to bed.

Still works with iOS 9.1. Seriously, I didn't do anything, it just started to work by itself. Waited over a month, few days ago a guy called from support about something else, and I told him about this problem, and he hadn't even heard about this problem. I told him everything, and he was really amazed about it. But yeah, I just noticed last night, that everything is working, when my apps started to update.

24 hours and everything is still working fine with 9.1. Whatever Apple did with the servers, the fix is sticking. I hope it holds - but honestly, I'm not totally sold. I'll give it the weekend and if everything continues to work on Monday I'd say Apple nailed the issue.

I'm curious to hear from those of you running the 9.2 beta who said the beta had not resolved the issues we were all having. Now that Apple has done something with the servers how is iOS 9.2 beta running - does everything work? Thanks in advance.

It has been 48 hours since I've reverted to my old ID (I was using a new ID as a work around). I have a couple of scenarios that usually replicate the problem. Most of my issues seem to be fixed such as: downloading/updating apps in the app store, links in email, and password settings for app store no longer disappear. But my Apple Music still has issues. When I try to play some songs, it takes multiple times of me pressing play for it to actually play. If I sign back into the work around ID that I created it works fine. Also I noticed that if I swipe closed the Apple Music app and then re-open it, it will give me an error occurred screen. It won't let me use any features on Apple Music. I have to sign in and out of Apple Music for it to work again. That problem actually happens on my original ID and my new ID. I just have to never swipe close the Apple Music app. Which after dealing with all the other issues for so long, I am perfectly happy with. Other than that everything seems to be OK.

I should also mention I am on iOS 9.2 beta 4. I have worked with the Apple Store Geniuses. They replaced my phone and once they do that, they pretty much no longer want to deal with you and just keep telling you to call Apple Phone Support. I've also worked with them and they had me send some logs to work with an engineer, but they ended up replacing my Apple Watch then I pretty much no longer heard from anyone after that.

I honestly no longer care to work on this issue anymore. I have a new phone, a new watch, and a simple fix that seems to work when problems happen. I am OK with that for now.

48 hours and my 6s continues to function right. None of the issues I was having have manifested since Apple did their fix. Still monitoring because the app store still doesn't feel right. Sometimes when I update an app the circle icon just hangs and then the app indicates the update is complete by displaying the Open button. If I want to download an app the circle functions like it should but the update takes longer than it should, especially when the app isn't that large. Like I said, I'll continue to monitor and see if the app store behavior changes. For now, I'm just glad my app store issues are gone.

I'm not messing with Apple Music anymore - haven't even tried to play anything from the music app. I did the 90 day trial and paid for one month which is about the time my phone started having issues. Once I logged out of Apple Music I wasn't able to get back in for a while, and then my Apple ID began to have problems with iCloud and iTunes. I don't know if the Apple Music subscription together with iOS 9.1 had anything to do with my Apple ID issues but I've cancelled my music subscription and I'm not messing with it again. As long as my Apple ID works with the app store and iCloud I'm good!

I went back to my regular iTunes and App Store account after using a test account from Apple for a few weeks because of people in this thread and the Apple employee that has been helping me for the past month saying the problem has been fixed and for the day I've been back its been working like normal so far. Is everybody else's account still working for them too?
