Something strange happens from the time ElCapitan installed:
safari does not open links from twitter
How to solve it?
I have checked safari preferences, extensions, general, security and all are ok.
Example:
iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1), null

I started to use Chrome, and I am not happy, at all.
Safari was excellent until ElCapitan released.

For the time being my t.co links started working again after the always allow option... Did a (2015 iMac) restart and I had to close and open Safari few times. Hope Apple wil fix this soon....

We need just delete "s" of security in every link:
even, I am not sure who is envolved in that, Twitter or Safari?
But, for this moment is a solution.
Same issue with Google Search, so it is not Twitter's
Btw: deletion of 's' in 'https' does not work in every case.

HA! Spoke too soon. Like pretty much ALL the other "fixes" I've tried regarding this issue, this worked great for about the first 20 minutes, and now everything is back to usual. This is absolutely driving me nuts.
In Twitter App Preferences check Main-Open links in background. This helped for my Safari v9.0.1 on El Capitan v10.11.1 to open Twitter App v3.1.2 links without any problems.
Did you ever figure this out? It's currently driving me nuts. I've tried everything suggested in this thread too.
Absolutely nothing I try works for longer than 30 minutes.

I have the same problem. I can't say it's only related to urls shortened by t.co but those are the ones I've noticed so far...
If i let Safari struggle a fem minuten and then refresh the page it works. My laymen analysis is that Safari has problem to "unscramble" shortened urls.
I'll file a bug - and i think it helps if more people does the same. I'll name it "Safari having problems resolving shortened urls".
