My iMac on El Capitan was very slow and impossible to use for other user accounts. This hint apparently solved the issue:

Many thanks victorkr. I was going crazy and I followed your advice (kept the 3 files as not brave to bin them yet) and it runs fast!!!

Now, I just have to figure out how to make safari open pages again and I'll be back to where I was before the update!!!

When I originally ran this, my performance was shown as "Below Average". Since then, I have tried only the 'cloudd' fix method for slow finder performance and ran the EtreCheck again since I have copied something else into the clipboard. Now, suddenly the performance is being labelled as "Excellent". Not entirely sure if my system is fix yet, but please look into my log for any abnormalities.

You should start your own question in your own thread instead of piggy-backing onto someone else's question. Don't read too much into EtreCheck's performance measure. The more you run it, the less accurate it becomes due to the system caching the results.
