Apple Music not working on iPhone 6 after iOS 9.1

I foolishly updated both iPhone 6 and iPad Mini with the new iOS 9.1 on the day of release, and spent all day yesterday trying to make Apple Music work. around 11pm, it finally worked on my iPad after login/signing on and off for a few hours, today it shows everything fine, but don't play anything. After communicating with Apple Music Help on Twitter I decided to re-install it all on the iPhone 6, hours of the signing on and off frozen, Apple Music on the phone shows For You, New and Connect OK, but won't play, Radio doesn't load at all and My Music is empty, not linking to my Music Match on ICloud. Now (Saturday 16:26), I can only listen to my music and Beats 1 from my main MacBook Pro... I definitely think this iOS 9.1 is a massive mistake. I am trying to reset my iPhone from scratch as I type this, backing it up from the Cloud from 3 days ago, but I launched this 1 hour ago and it still does nothing.... Not very convenient to do the Beats Run tomorrow if I need to png in my laptop in a rucksack as no small device is usable.

MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Agreed! I am so annoyed to have blindly trusted the update to 9.1 when all my devices worked perfectly with 9.02! We didn't need fancy Wallpapers, We didn't need new font, We didn't need Touch ID when we can have passcode, We didn't need new "emojis", although I am starting to admit that the addition of the "Middle Finger" emoji is now quite appropriate!

Update:

Apple Music inexplicably appears to be working again as of 7:08PM ET on my iPhone 6 running iOS 9.1. I have been able to stream several tracks for approximately 10 minutes.

However, there are caveats:

- The "Radio" feature isn't working

- Although I originally saw a progress bar under "My Music," I am now told that I cannot load my iCloud Music Library

- At least one track has struggled to buffer, starting and stopping without my interaction

Game Centre is still messed up, and URLs in emails still won't open.

I should add that I, knock on wood, have no problems whatsoever with my (Gmail) Apple ID on my MacBook. Using the same Apple ID, Apple Music works like a charm when using iTunes 12.3.1.

Ok update

Apple Support from US has been calling me up and asked me to do a restore ... so downloaded 9.1 all over again via iTunes. And set up the phone as 'new' but with my own id.

And guess what........

................................same problem continued!!!!!!! 😠

Yeah, sorry to hear that. Same happened to many others and myself, as documented earlier in this thread.
Apple Support doesn't understand this issue, and are just trying things that should fix offline software issues.

Make sure you keep working with them, and let them know that it didn't work!

I would like to say to all of you my friends who also have the same problem on the iPhone. I mean I have checked daily this discussion here in this list but only now decided to also write to join this fight. Let announced that the My Apple ID with uol.com.br problem is, and I created a new Apple iD gmail.com it is working properly. Of course this new Apple ID is provisional until Apple can fix this terrible flaw in iOS 9.1. Would very much appreciate this discussion with Apple understand that this is not an isolated problem but a problem that is affecting many people in the world but they are not reporting her the problem and just follow the discussions mainly because they are not in the USA. For registration of my problem I had this problem with the iPhone 5s but managed to solve making it and the downgrade to iOS 9.0.2 but bought a new iPhone 6 and upgraded it to 9.1 and it was a moment that could not downgrade, which in fact it was only solution and that unfortunately Apple no longer allows accomplish. Finally I want to say I'm awaiting a solution from Apple and that at least recognizes this problem right now and apologize for their lack with all of us who had this problem that brings us both disorders. I apologize for my English translated by Google.

i have it installed and nothing is fixed with beta 3

I can confirm this as well. The current iOS development seems to be doing nothing to fix this issue.

I'm convinced that an iOS update alone won't fix it. Something server-side with the iTunes services and Apple ID needs to be fixed, as well.

In the meantime, I just made a second Apple ID, and added it to my Family.

Guess what?

Apple Music works fine now!

Let's resume the situation again, on 22nd October I had

1. A pristine, 1 and 1/2 month old Iphone 6 running on IOS 9.02 - IN PREFECT WORKING ORDER

2. A pristine 1 year and 336 days old Ipad Mini 2 Retina Display running on IOS 9.02 - IN PREFECT WORKING ORDER

on 23rd October I had

1. A pristine, 1 and 1/2 month old Iphone 6 running on IOS 9.1- NOT DISPLAYING HYPERLINKS IN EMAILS, NOT LOADING APPLE MUSIC, NOT LOADING APPS, NOT ACCESSING PAST PURCHASES APPS, MUSIC, BOOKS

2. A pristine 1 year and 336 days old Ipad Mini 2 Retina Display running on on IOS 9.1- NOT DISPLAYING HYPERLINKS IN EMAILS, NOT LOADING APPLE MUSIC, NOT LOADING APPS, NOT ACCESSING PAST PURCHASES APPS, MUSIC, BOOKS

on 31st October I BOUGHT

1. an Ipod Touch, brand new, sealed from the Apple Store, running on IOS 9.02 - IN PREFECT WORKING ORDER

on 6th November I had

1. my pristine, 1 and 1/2 month old Iphone 6 running on IOS 9.1- NOT DISPLAYING HYPERLINKS IN EMAILS, NOT LOADING APPLE MUSIC, NOT LOADING APPS, NOT ACCESSING PAST PURCHASES APPS, MUSIC, BOOKS, died on me trying to reboot

2. A pristine 1 year and 336 days old Ipad Mini 2 Retina Display running on on IOS 9.1- NOT DISPLAYING HYPERLINKS IN EMAILS, NOT LOADING APPLE MUSIC, NOT LOADING APPS, NOT ACCESSING PAST PURCHASES APPS, MUSIC, BOOKS

on 9th November was given in exchanged at the Apple Store

1. A pristine, brand new, sealed from the Apple Store Iphone 6 running on IOS 8.4.1 - IN PREFECT WORKING ORDER... but for how long as it is not even running on IOS 9.02...

and I still had

3. I returned for full refund the Ipod Touch, brand new, running on IOS 9.02 - IN PREFECT WORKING ORDER... but I don't NEED / WANT an Ipod Touch, that can't even work on its own in the street if not near a WORKING IPHONE!

on 12th November after another 1:30 hour on "Chat" with an Apple Senior Advisor I was clearly told:

"Yes, this is very unfair, but Apple WILL NOT EXCHANGED YOUR pristine 1 year and 336 days old Ipad Mini 2 Retina Display running on IOS 9.1- NOT DISPLAYING HYPERLINKS IN EMAILS, NOT LOADING APPLE MUSIC, NOT LOADING APPS, NOT ACCESSING PAST PURCHASES APPS, MUSIC, BOOKS, for one running on a prior IOS version, that we all agree would WORK"...

14th November 10:00am, I am scheduled for yet another Call from Apple Support...

Now I feel GUILTY to want to have all my devices in WORKING ORDER and carefully UPDATED, just the way they were before 9.1... This is very wrong

Any suggestion?

The workaround that has worked for me - and is described in this discussion forum - is setting up a new Apple ID and then linking it to my main Apple ID through family sharing. That fixed all my problems - apps updating and new app purchases possible, hyperlinks in emails working, and Apple Music loading fine onto my phone.

The only problem with this solution is that I cannot get my very carefully curated original iCloud Music Library onto my iPhone as it is linked to my main Apple ID even with a family subscription to Apple Music. This is a major problem, not because the library would take many days/weeks to recreate.

Does anyone know a way to get my iCloud Music Library associated with my original Apple ID replicated into my new (temporary) Apple ID?

Misery loves company. I've been having all these problems as well. No Cloud music, can't download from App store, Apple Music. You name it, I've had it too.

One thing that comes to me...why is it happening to some, and not others? A few months back, I changed my email address, and changed my Apple ID to my new email. Has anybody else done that? Could this be a cause? Just spit-ballin' here.

Also...I know creating a new Apple ID allows everything to work, but you don't have access to your cloud library, purchased apps, et. al. So...has anybody tried changing their Apple ID to a new ID (i.e. @icloud.com)? And...if so...did they still have the problem? If I thought it would fix the problem for me, I wouldn't really have an issue with changing my ID to my @icloud.com email if I thought it would help.

Again...just throwing out some suggestions. I haven't had the time to read EVERY post of this 24 page thread. Sheesh.

My temporary solution has been to make a playlist with your library, and then share it with your other account.

I made the playlist on my Mac and texted it to myself.

On my phone, under the new ID, I was able to open and add it to my library.

It's far from perfect, but it's what Is working for me, until Apple gets back with me.

Yesterday for the very first time I managed to have the Senior Advisor in the US read all the pages of this thread. I hope this will help.

My IPad has been down since monday, this morning I did a "home + side button" reset and it is working... But I know, the battle is not won yet.

I have another phone call scheduled for tomorrow.

I just was contacted by Apple, and will also be getting in contact with a Senior Advisor. I think our issue is so fringe, that it really hasn't been seen by them.

I really hope they're able to solve this. Wouldn't want this to get worse later on, and happen to more people.

Nothing much has changed for this group. I'm using the family ID workaround but would still like to see a solution. From this thread, the bug seems to affect .mac and gmail IDs. Every part of the bug has been consistent for me through resets, restores, clean installs, etc. And, when using my son's ID, all works perfectly. What I can't understand is why I have the bug on my iPhone 6S Plus but not my iPad 4 or iPhone 4S.
