Iphone 5s fast battery drain with ios 9.1

Hi,

After upgrade from 8.4.1 to ios 9.1 my iphone 5s battery is drying very fast. Like within 8h it drains 100% to 0% in idle.

Is there any solutions ?

I did allready reset/ restore and all this kind of stuff but still no success... I really like to get back ios 8.4.1 if that could be possible...

Try to follow the instructions on this page in order to maximize your battery life:

http://osxdaily.com/2015/09/21/fix-ios-9-battery-life-problems/

Try to reset your device. This won't delete your data stored on the phone.

  • Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button
  • Press and hold on the Home button
  • Keep holding both buttons until the display turns off and back on with Apple logo on it.

You may also try to reset all settings: go to Settings - General - Reset - Reset All Settings

You may also try to follow these steps:

1. Navigate to settings/general/ battery usage. Check the applications. This will show you which app eats up your battery.

2. Turn off iCloud keychain: Navigate to Settings/ iCloud/Keychain / turn it off.

3. Limit apps activity on the background: Navigate to Settings/ general/ Background App refresh/ turn it off for each application which uses to much power.

4. Disable auto brightness: Navigate to settings/ display and brightness/ auto-brightness. Turn this option off.

@ rajaleidja: Sorry to hear that it did not work for you. In my case, I really seem to have fixed it after all. I don't know exactly what was decisive, but definitely it was connected to iCloud on my Mac. Maybe just signing off and on again helped, or turning off iCloud drive on both the Mac and the Phone, I am not sure.

@ cubcougar: Yes, I am really back to a good battery life and no excess data usage.

As for the battery, I am on 75 % after 18 hours of stanby and 1:30 hour of usage. I think this is fair. Certainly much less than 1 % per hour in standy. Before, I had something like 10 % per hour in standby.

As for the data, I reset the statistics 18 hours ago, and since then the system services have only used 700 kB. Before, "documents & sync" alone used at least 10 MB per hour.

hey rajaleidja ...

Lawrence tells me that when the Apple Apps are turned off ... they are not off but still on (you just can not see what they are doing).

I trust his assessment on the matter ... he is a learned person.

When Cellular Data is turned off pretty much nothing works (except for Text messages and Cell Phone) and you can not even make an outgoing verbal message (custom not default) for your voice mail when Cellular Data is turned off.

However ... that being said do you still have poor battery life when Cellular Data is turned off (have to turn off as well wi-fi, wi-fi assist, bluetooth, etc) so your smart phone then becomes a dumb phone that works and has battery life.

Plan Two ... is check for lint in your lightening port making for a bad connection (blow it out with clean canned air or maybe use electronic component cleaner with it turned off of course) and also turn off your cell phone except when you do not want to use it.

I know turning off your cell phone makes incoming calls much more difficult .. but see if the battery still drains down energy when it is off.
