Siri remote not working

I just got my Apple TV 4 today, and I didn't get to pair my Apple TV to the remote. It just told me to choose the language and stuff, but I can't use the remote so I can't do anything, any help?

The first thing to stop working when the battery stops working on the remote is the touchpad. All we had to do was plug it in for 10 minutes or so and the touchpad started working again.
