Siri remote not working
I just got my Apple TV 4 today, and I didn't get to pair my Apple TV to the remote. It just told me to choose the language and stuff, but I can't use the remote so I can't do anything, any help?

Same issue here too
I just tried using my old remote, and that worked. not sure how to pair up this new remote though.
Same issue here too
Help
Exactly the same issue. I can restart box with remote but nothing else works.
Has anyone been able to solve this issue? I have exactly the same problem
I used the silver old remote to get into the menu for the bluetooth, then paired the actual v4 remote after turning the Bluetooth on. I don't think mine was on by default.
Problem is I don't have an old remote.
Maybe your remote needs to be charged?
You can restart the ATV with remote. but you can't do anything other. Support advocate that we should restore the ATV. But I can not connect the ATV to my iMac :-(
I do not have the right cable
Also having the same problem. Can confirm I can restart the ATV using menu and play/pause. Just the trackpad that is not working. Have had remote on charge just to check it wasn't that. Any help anyone can offer would be great.
Same problem as above, I started the ATV, it says to use siri remote to swipe in order to pick the right language, but it doesn't work if I swipe on it.
OK... So to get mine working... I used my TV remote (which is a Toshiba remote) and used the arrow buttons and 'OK' buttons to Infrared my way through the setup. Once up to a point, I did the setup with device option, used my phone... Then navigated to settings once complete to get to Bluetooth where I have paired the remote properly....
Absolute insanity of a setup procedure. Worst Apple product setup I've done... And I've done a lot.
Took mine back to the apple store and swapped it for another. 2nd one worked straight out of the box.
same problem, just figured it out.
go to the system menu, reset the system, a remote menu starts up. then click on the siri remote.
