music app stuck on Apple music screen HELP!!!

Folks,

i have an iPad Air 2 and none of these fixes has permanently resolved the issue. Sometimes when I switch to airplane mode it doesn't fix the trouble. And really that is not a solution. You shouldn't have to disable wifi to access your music. Nor is it reasonable to power down and reboot each time. Also, enabling Apple Music does not work consistently. I'm so sick of these IOS updates which only create more bugs than solutions.

The solution is go to settings>music>join apple music. Choose whether you want to join it for trial or not. Then you done and it will never haunted you anymore forever.

AS per screen shot I have Apple Music set to OFF. if you follow the link in blue "Join Apple Music" there's no choice about "not joining"

Of all the solutions listed here, this is the only one that worked for me on my 6S: hold music button until menu comes up, select search, the click tab for my music, enter a search term. Then it seems to be okay. This is, by the way, with the Show Apple Music setting at OFF, without joining Apple Music, without subscribing to iTunes Match.

Thank you! This helped. I had this same issue while at a hotel. I think it had something to do with the wifi authentication but not sure. Tried forcing the music app, rebooting, turning off apple music in settings and none of those worked. So frustrating! Turning airplane mode ON worked! #relieved. 🙂

I have the same issue, and none of the above solutions worked for me.

When I switch off "join apple music", it asks me to join again. And the "Music" screen pops at me almost every time I try to use the app!

Ironically, I have NO interest at all in joining any Music Web service, I just want to listen mp3s which my iPod nano was doing without crashing ten years ago. How can we tolerate that the only application to play music in iOS refuses to do the most basic thing it was designed for.

Yep me too. Come on Apple. Sort it. The advice about going to settings and turning music on, doesn't work.

PS Apple -- until this is sorted, I am using Spotify on my iPad, not iTunes. Actually, using it rather a lot, now I come to think of it.
