I don't believe that the Apple TV supports Siri in Italy.
The Italian specification page doesn't depict microphones in the remote, as I don't have a remote from Italy, I don't know whether this is just because Siri isn't supported in Italian or because the remote has no microphones.
Siri for now is only available in selected countries. If your iTunes Store account is also in Italy, you're probably not going to be able to get Siri (yet); if your normal account is in one of the selected countries, perhaps you'll be able to use Siri if you sign in to that account. Reports seem to differ.
See this thread for more info, about Siri in Sweden: No Siri-remote in Sweden?
It seems to be linked to the iTunes account, not the UI language nor region 😟
I just got my shiny AppleTV 4, in Spain. I've got my region as Spain, have my iTunes account in Spain, but have my settings in English (not being Spanish myself). Still... Siri is greyed out :Oo
Will I have to change the language to Spanish to get her working?! That would be daft...!
No, even worse. You must have an Apple ID from the US for example to have it in English. Or German ID die German Siri 😟
But it should work in Spain! 😕 that would not make any sense if a US account was necessary for Siri (in Spanish).
Language must be Spanish too
Where have you got this information from.
I tried it out. I live in Germany, would like to have English UI and Siri. Not possible, only German and that only if I set it all to German with my German Apple ID. Only thing that doesn't matter is the region setting.
You may well be correct, but "I've tried it and it didn't work" doesn't rule out other causes. I'd have expected a lot more people to be bringing this up if it was happening to everyone that wanted to use a different language from that associated with their location, there are a lot of US service people in Germany for example.
As I say, you may well be right here, but given the low numbers reporting it as a problem, I'm inclined to at least have some doubts unless it can be seen in an Apple KB article for example.
There are many post about this on German Apple forums. People from Austria and Switzerland can't use Siri unless they login with a German iTunes account.
But Austria and Switzerland aren't on the list of locations that are supposed to work.
Of course they aren't. But they cannot activate Siri even if they set everything to German. It must be a German Apple ID. I wonder what is so hard to believe about it.
But you aren't allowed to use a German ID for streaming in Austria, it's against the T & C's you agree to when you sign up and as Apple point out they reserve the right to block you from doing this.
I repeat. You may well be right, but the reasons you are giving are just not conclusive.
When I change my language setting to Spanish, I'm able to turn on Siri. Going back to English, and it's not possible.
