Apple TV 4 Dolby Surround sound out of Sync

Hi All,

I have an sync issue with dolby surround (5.1, AC3) sound on the new Apple TV 4 connected to my receiver. It doenst matter which source I use (Netflix, iTunes, Plex) all videos with dolby sound are out of sync. When I change the Apple TV settings to always use stereo, there are no issues. I also tryed changing the settings to 16-bit sound without any luck.

I noticed that it takes about a second for my receiver to start receiving and playing audio, after I hit play, or pause and resume.

I also can remember that in the past I had similair problems with 5.1 sound on my ATV1 and / or 2. Is anyone having the same issues?

After nearly a year of fighting and jumping through hoops I'm taking my two 32G ATV4's into the apple store for replacement. In the 12 months I've had this issue, I have gone through the following on two separate units, on two different brand TV's, and two different sets of sound options:

Tried various makes of HDMI cable from 1.0 to 1.4a with ethernet.

Different routers & modem models

Wireless channels 2.4 & 5

Wired

Different ISP's, cable (150mbps/20) Verizon (150mbps/150)
Wired directly to modem
With sound bar/without
With Home theater/without

Resetting to factory

Resetting to factory via iTunes (USB-C)

I'm sure there is more, I have simply lost track...

It happens within an hour or two, the audio sync, no matter what, falls off. It is not an app issue. It will do it on any video app installed including itunes movies and is even noticeable when changing menu options; the beep is delayed. The only way to fix it is to reset the unit, or as I've found faster, yank the HDMI cable out of the TV or AppleTV and put it back in and resume what you're doing.
