Mac mini Firmware Update

I'm finding it kind of confusing. You're supposed to
make a reservation, but if it's all booked up you
don't really have option but to go in and hope
someone cancels.

Good question. I have not used the process myself but I could go in just now and it let me choose times (within 15 minute increments) this afternoon. I did not click on "Complete" but if it let me get that far in the process than I assumed the time was open.

I haven't had any significant problems since the firmware update, EXCEPT that it over-rode the disabling of my internal speakers.

Internal speakers are now ENABLED, and I cannot figure out how to re-DISABLE them.

Any ideas?

Just choose your store, and choose a reservation time. (Try looking early in the morning, or else everything will be booked.)

Listen to what he says! I'm trying to get my mini fixed after the firmware update hosed it. No spaces available on Friday at mid-day. Got up at 7:00 AM on Saturday and the first available slot was at 4:00 that afternoon.

Frankly, I'm underwhelmed at the level of support under warranty for a month-old machine.

Im not trying to find out what I need to do to take my machine in.

All I need to know is how to DISABLE the internal speakers again.

Other than that my machine works fine post firmware upgrade.

This appears to have hosed my Dad's new Mac Mini. I wish he hadn't gone anywhere near it.

I'm going to try to walk him through the Firmware repair disk over the phone and see how we go from there.

At present, no video whatsoever, despite trying the reboot thing and numerous other suggestions above.

Not happy.

Just updated the firmware and now I have a black transparent frame on my desktop that moves with the mouse pointer. Any solutions how to get rid of it?

Under the Apple Menu choose System Preferences.

Then click on Universal Access.

Click the Seeing tab. Turn off the Zoom feature.

For some reason, updates turn this on sometimes.
