Apple TV 4 network problems

I'm having huge problems with network speeds on my new Apple TV 4. My router (Time capsule) is located a couple of metres from the Apple TV and although the connection is perfect (according to the Settings on my Apple TV) I'm experiencing slow downloads. Thumbnail images, other graphics and videos take forever to load. The App Store usually won't load at all. I have checked the download and upload speed using the SpeedText app, which shows good speeds (20Mbps - 40 Mbps) but actually using the Apple TV results in slow speed and occasional timeouts.


I also have an Apple TV 3 and it works perfectly, without any connection problems. So the problem seems to be the new Apple TV.


I have restarted my broadband modem, router and Apple TV several times. I also tried resetting the Apple TV and starting over from scratch, but the problem still exists.


Am I the only one with this problem and can someone help me find a solution? Maybe wait for tvOS 9.1?

Same **** as everyone here. I have a Macbook Pro 2015 on a 5Ghz network, the same one my Apple TV 4 is connected to - and it fails to work every single day for AirPlay or with Beamer App. When it works it crashes after 20-30 mins and only after restarting both my Macbook Pro and Apple TV and Router.....


I heard Eddy Cue and Craig Federighi dodge these very issues in the podcast with John Gruber. If apple's chief software guys keep claiming tvOS 9.2 is better then ever, then they should be truly embarrassed at how many individuals come here to voice their anger at how the software fails to work ALL THE TIME.

This is the buggiest Apple product I have ever had, and it has gone through 4 generations with multiple updates. There is no excuse for AirPlay to fail to connect on a daily basis. Piece of crap software. The user experience is horrendous. I have had this for a month and it fails every day. Please god **** solve these bugs like last year....

4 day old ATV4 and experiencing network issues from the get go... with slow downloads, thumbnail images not there, other graphics slow to load. Music app also will not always play, more often than not when the artist/album had multiple entries, it just scrolls through all the entries and doesn't play. If there's only 1 entry then it sometimes plays after a few seconds, but not always.


ATV4 is connected via ethernet.


I noticed that after connecting the ATV4 my network starting dropping out or becoming unresponsive occasionally....What I did was, kick the ATV4 off the router and deleted the wifi credentials. Since then I haven't noticed any issues with network dropouts or unresponsiveness. Don't understand it, because it's always connected via ethernet. I only did the intial wifi setup via IOS device, after that I plugged the ethernet in.


ATV4 will wake OK from sleep via network control.


ATV3 worked perfectly.... same cables, ports, config', account, etc.
