ok, if that's not it, then what IS it?

I don't know. However, aside from the fact that suggesting apps on a lock screen couldn't cause a notification such as your seeing, if it did, there would be millions of people mentioning it.

Something is sending notifications to your phone. Figuring out which app is going to be a tedious process. Turn off notifications for all apps then turn them on one at a time until you see the notification again. Or, just live with it.

Best of luck.

Hi @MEg St._ Clair,

I have had the same problem as @Alittlediamond and solved it with her instructions. Just would like to let you know that what you have mentioned about the Suggested part doing only a small icon on the bottom right of the lock screen is inaccurate. I have had the same problem as Alittlediamond on an iPhone 5 after the latest update of iOS and recently downloading the Facebook Messenger app. Whenever I double tapped on my phone in the morning I always see this "Good Morning, (Insmeet your name)

Messenger" bar at the bottom.

I felt it was an invasion of privacy and I don't even use the Messenger app a lot so why suggest it to me?

However, I did not have what you mention on the lock screen.

And to answer everyone who don't know what that is, it is a new predictive thing from the newest iOS- suggesting apps that you use most of the time.

So @Alittlediamond's experience is right. She/He could have been using Notes(Which is an app) a lot or the weather app more recently for those suggestions to appear after double tapping her home button. Any app can be suggested, including those by Apple.

If you want to turn it off, follow @Alittlediamond's instructions:

Settings > General > Handoff & Suggested Apps > Suggested. Turn that off. Problem solved!

Well, that may have worked before the most recent iOS update. Now when I go to settings>general>handoff there is no longer the & suggested apps setting. Looks like another case of Apple of forcing its ideas on you whether you like them or not. Now besides a bunch of apps I will never use and can't remove, I get this useless (to me at least) and annoying good morning message. I think this 6 will be my last Apple device.

I had the same problem for the past few days on my iPhone 7 as random games and apps would greet me every now and then and it wouldnt go away no matter what I tried to do. I tried to find a solution around the web but I didn't find anything so I figured out myself. I was playin around in the settings trying out different things to fix this nothing there too . So what fixed it for me and should for you as well is: Go to your home screen then swipe left on the widget menu, swipe down click on edit and remove the widget - Siri App Suggestions. That should do the job and while for me the siri suggestions are completely useless if you are on of the people who use that feature then Im sorry but that looks like the only fix right now

This happened to me for the first time today, but I am familiar with the issue having tried helping someone resolve it back in the summer.

I am running 4 iOs devices, all under my main account and running different GC ids. The message was appearing on a device running iOS 10. All of my devices had been upgraded to iOS 10, but 1. I was hypothesizing that maybe it was this particular devices causing the issue. I turned off suggested app in setting as mentioned above, but also finally bit the bullet and updated the OS. Immediately after turning off suggested apps, the message disappeared. It'll be interesting to see if this comes back.
