ipad pro split keyboard?

Well i'm terribly disappointed about apple's ergonomy position.

I used to have an older ipad or ipad 2 but now it's getting old and...

I took the opportunity of the proximity of Christmas and of some important changes in my llife to make me a little (well "little-ish") present by buying the ipad pro... Had i known the "activate keyboard split" function had been discontinued, i would have bought the ipad air...

But again i like brand new stuff with top of quality hardware parts like apple usually provides....

well my problem is this: i have hyperalgesic sciatica in my left leg... So it's painful for me to lie down with my mac book air 13" sitting on my lap (iraise my knees and place the mac there ... It starts to be painful after a few minutes)

Then this morning i was sent to hospital because i need surgery... I took my ipad pro along with me... installed it on my lap... And i thought wow the screen is indeed big (And if i want to keep it charged, i need it to be in landscape mode ...well i hope the ergonomic team at apples have done the test....otherwise they should really warn people against using the devices in bed....)

but i wanted to continue to work from my hospital room you know by transferring stuff to womever is in charge...

during one or two hours,instqed of working, i tried to remembe`r how i can us the thumb typing feature and now i found this post....

well i really dont undertand apple poition... I find it completey unfounded (i mean irrational)

and then id like to insist please make a software correction and reinstall the split screen

I think this isn't fair, Apple is just restricting things, they may be good at making people with some things but when you experience deeper into the products, there is not much that people expect from it and can be disappointing.

It's not ideal but thanks for the tip! Until they issue an update it looks like I am using zoomed in!

I do have a hard time typing with my thumbs when holding the iPad Pro in landscape mode. Which is precisely why I would want to have the split keyboard mode, because it would make this much easier. l never saw the point of the split keyboard on the 9.7" iPad as I could type easily with my thumbs in landscape orientation. But exactly on the device where it would provide utility, it's not available.

Getting the split keyboard back on iPad Pro:

1. Settings > Display & Brightness> View

2. Change the view from 'Standard' to 'Zoomed'

3. Split keyboard comes back when you drag it apart just like on any other ipad

Thanks for pointing this out. I believe somebody else also discovered this, but this feature also, if I recall correctly, also magnifies everything on the screen, which is not a good thing for most people.

Even with the split (zoomed mode) the keyboard jumps to the center. It’s awful. For God’s sale Apple... give me a split keyboard at the bottom of my 12.9” iPad Pro.
