Gaming Question (Couldn't find anywhere else)

Sorry if this was posted anywhere else, but I couldn't find the answer. I am looking into buying a MacBook with at least 1GB RAM. As I know the Pro series is much better for gaming, I want to know if a few games will run under the MacBook, as I can't afford even the refurbished Pros. I understand I will have to install XP to get most of these to work, which is what I use now. Here goes:

Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (Windows vers)
Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast (Windows vers)
Lego Star Wars II
Star Wars Battlefront II
Area 51
Worms 4
Planetside

With the Jedi Knight series, I can shell out the cash for the now increasingly rare mac vesions if I need to. Can anybody give some help on these? I know I will have to make some sacrifices on graphics level for most if not all of them.

Thanks a lot.

I have my own gaming related issue with my Macbook, and I figured I'd spare everyone the trouble of creating a whole new thread by posting in this one. I have a Black Macbook with a gig of ram and all that basic features that come with a black Macbook, and I was looking to play Team Fortress 2 on my laptop. I bought the game and started it up in bootcamp, only to find that it was near impossible to play. For starters, the menu screens do not show the background art, only a black screen. Then, if I can get into a server without being rebooted, the game is extremely choppy and nearly freezes until it restarts itself. I know that I cannot install a graphics card or anything like that, but I was wondering if there was anything that I could do to upgrade my Mac in order to run this game. Thanks for any and all help.

I have a macbook, it doesnt really matter about the details because i dont use it for gaming. Because i know that theres no point when you can buy an Xbox 360 to play all the games mentioned in this forum on it. i think that makes much more sense then having to suffer (only a little though) playing games on a mac hen you know if youve ever played on an xbox that it could be just a little better.
there is no point playing games on a mac when its not designed to play games.
this is my personal opinion.

I'm also having a problem playing World or Warcraft (WoW) on my black macbook. I know I have plenty of space and memory on my macbook since it is brand new. The problem I have is the graphics sometime mess up and the colors of the game change. It's hard to explain, but it looks as if there are weird colors in place of the regular colors of the landscape( ie: bright greens, blues, reds, yellows,ect...). If someone could point me in the right direction of an answer to this I'd really appreciate it.

I too have problems in World of Warcraft when using my black macbook 2.4 ghz w 4 gb memory.

It works fine for a while, and then the graphics start to morph over time. DOes not happen on my iMap or MacBook Pro.

Decided to upgrade my wife to the MacBook (Black) and only use the iMAc or MacBook Pro for 3D gaming.

Wish Apple had a solution to the graphics question on the MAcBook, as it is much more affordable to the other portable alternatives.

Hi! Im new to this so bear with me. i just recently bought a PC game: Civilization IV. I have a program on my mac called VMware which emulates WIndows operating system. Now I have a MacBook with a graphics processor: GMA 950. When I finished installing it, it gave me an error saying something about Renderer failed, check latest DirectX updates, etc. etc. Is that a graphics card issue? If so can I upgrade my graphics card on my MacBook so that I can start playing the game already? Thanks for your time on reading this.

I play Quake 4 on my macbook, but you have to set it on low. I have GMA 950, so I have to run it at lowest resolution, and it plays slow on widescreen. Maybe the newer macbooks (better graphics card) can run it widescreen and better res, but I cant. Overall it runs smooth, and if it doesn't work too well for you, you might want to try unchecking some of the advanced settings.
