Ipad Pro shuts off while charging and requires a hard reset to turn on

Hello,

I got my iPad Wednesday, spent the evening getting it all setup. Restored from back up, ensured everything was there, wiped my iPad air 2 (sold it), deleted it's back up and went on with my normal routine.

At night it was down to 40% so I charged it and went to bed. When I woke up it was "dead". It wouldn't wake up. I needed to perform a hard reset to get it to come to life. Worked on it for a couple of hours and had to run an errand. Plugged it back in as I was going to need a full charge later that day. Came back to it, same thing. Dead. I needed to perform a hard reset to get it to turn on.

Used it more, then last night plugged it in and this morning, same thing. I am thinking that there is an issue with this iPad.

I am now restoring it, since that it what online support recommended I try. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

Thanks.

iPad, iOS 9.1, This is an iPad Pro

Yep, I noted that you started the thread in my reply.

Also as a note, my backup has been running every day through icloud. No lockups, no freezes. I've tested with 6 of the most prominent settings that people have posted in this thread as causing a lockup and haven't had any issues with lockups/freezing on charge.

If your ipad pro's not backing up, you should take it to a genius bar and see if they can help you sort out any icloud issues you might be having to see if that's the cause of the failed backups.

My point is that the black screen on full charge is resolved. Create a new thread about the backups not working as that's most likely a different issue. Enabling and disabling the backups was proven to have no effect on the tons of other people here that were having the screen lockup issue on full charge.

Picked up a new IpadPro 9.7" 256Gb model today. Had it charging and watching a youtube video, playing along nicely, and the thing went silent and black. Sure wish I had seen this thread before buying.

I have tried the force restart process several times, no luck. I plugged it into the laptop, not seen by itunes. It is running the current OS of 9.3.5 so the supposed fix from 9.2 should be in there already. Well done apple, your quality control has clearly gone to ****. Dig up steve, even in his present condition he would be doing a better job.
