iPad Pro screen is yellow

Just got my new iPad Pro and love it, best iPad ever. But I've noticed the screen color temperature is significantly shifted more toward the warm/yellow tones than my other two iPads, which are cool/bluish. I like th blue better, it makes whites look cleaner. I was wondering if this is a common issue?

Cherry your welcome.shawn I guess if yiur 32gb is yellow then im wrong thinking only the 128gb had this problem. I opened 4 units so far all 128gb had yellow tinted screens. All the demo units in the apple.stores.are.perfect. if they open one.up and it exhibits any problem they dont put them on display.my advice for anyone.buying.is to set it up in store, then put them side by side, look at the whites in calendar and also check out the.grey areas. You will.be.able to see if there is.a.problem. dont.settle.for.an.inferior screen

Mine.is going.back. i.will.try again in a few months...I feel foolish buying and returning 10 inits till i get a.good one. Why should.any of.us go.thru that.nonsense. smarten up apple.

I was able to compare my 128 GB iPad Pro to my older iPads 2 and 3 and the iPad Pro is definitely slightly more yellow in temperature.

Previous iPads have had displays with cooler ( blue-ish hue) temperature color.

The yellow temperature is not very "severe" compared to my other iPads, though.

I have a silver model iPad Pro.

Do you really think that this is a defect or a just Apple using a different screen manufacturer/supplier as well as just a preference toward a cooler temperature screen?

I have my iMac color calibrated toward a more warmer (slightiy yellow) color temperature because it is more accurate for critical color work when creating graphics and artworks that need to be printed.

one of my coworkers have the 32 gb pro. I brought in my iPad Air 2 , look at both screens in calendar. The pro had a yellowish look in calendar. My iPad bright white.

so it seems perhaps a suppliers issue, but others said they seen the bright screens in other pros.

the only way we are going to get any kind of acknowledgement from Apple is a comment from the media or a major website like cnet.

they would loose millions of dollars if they acknowledge a defect in this new product.

Its the screen brian, nothing to do with the backlighting..both are as bright as each other...there is a quality control issue as always with apples first to go out....they rush these units out...im sure some are using a different screen from the others and its just a matter of luck which one you get. Like i said, my wifes has that nice blue white cooler look..the 128's four of which I tried out had yellowing compared to the 32gb. The reason more people havent complained is that for some peoples eyes its noticable, but if you only buy one unit and arent that fussy, you'll probably be okay with it....Im not one of those people....I gave my 128gb back this afternoon...now its a waiting game...maybe i'll buy one a month till I find a good one....the apple store doesnt seem to mind...the guy saw exactly what i was talking about....and had no answer.

Well,

Since I have until the first week of January 2016 to return the iPad Pro, I might as well keep it as use it until then and wait for some public news that surfaces about the yellow screen being an issue in the iPad Pros or not, as I realiy do not want to be doing what Abacus was doing with constant returns and sampling the Apple Store inventory.

If it is announced as a defect, I will definitely be returning mine at that point.

As it is now, there is no proof that this is a defect or not and just Apple usng a different screen supplier.

Obviously, I am not very bothered by the tempeature color of the screen as I work with my own iMac which is setup for this color temperature for my work.

This is, probably, why I am not too perturbed about this. Some users prefer a cooler bluer color hue screen than one that is more warmer and has more yellow hue to the screen.

I'll wait this out to see what transpires over the next month or so.

All of you can do as you will, also.

Good Luck!

MichelPM,

Apple will never announce a defect in their screens...if they see what some of us are seeing and get enough complaints they will just adjust the screen suppliers. Supposedly Sharp is supplying the current screens....also Samsung is going to start supplying screens soon...so I'll wait....so from what your saying is if Apple doesnt declare it as a problem you'll keep it and if they do you'll return it..so it sounds like its not bothering you...I dont base my returns on defects or not, I know what my eyes saw and my video confirms this and for me its not acceptable to have a yellowed screen on an item that costs almost as much as a macbook air. At 1100.00 I want a unit that has a white screen...It should be perfect..no excuses...but enjoy your yellowed screen...lol

I posted feedback here, about it already.

If you want Apple to hear you, sending letters to Tim Cook from a small handful of user will NOT make a difference.

Apple designers and engineers do not read these forums. Apple supplies these forums for users to work out their product issues with other users, but these community forums ARE monitored/moderated by Apple Staff assigned to these community forums, but I do not think any info is ever passed on to who/mever the cognizant parties are who would need to know if there are any mounting issues with a product or software.

The only way to get Apple to listen to you is to use their feedback portion of their website. Apple DOES read the feedback, but they still do not respond with any personal replies.

As I posted in the feedback link, no one from Apple will respond, but the feedback goes to the cognizant Apple employees or product group/team.

No one directly resposible for any of Apple's products development ever reads or participates in these community forums.

The feedback pages ARE the only option to get the attention of those at Apple who are responsible for any phases of product development.

Hi all, I have the same issue with the iPad 4 Mini. I bought an iPad 4 Mini 16GB from the Apple Store online, but I noticed the problem of the yellow display just I received it. In order to check if the problem is only on my unit, I went in a retail store and I compared my device with another iPad 4 Mini in the store. The display of the iPad in the store was perfectly calibrated, while the display of my iPad was too warm. So I have decided to send back my iPad and ask Apple to replace it. The second one that Apple sent me had exactly the same issue. So I have decided to give back it and asked my money back. After a couple of day I went in a shop and I have decided to buy an iPad Mini 4 64GB. When I have switched on it, I have noticed the same problem. I have checked the production week of the different iPad's by using the serial number and seems that the problem is related to the iPads produced in october 2015, while all the iPads that I have seen in the stores with a calibrated display are produced in July 2015. So, I suspect that the issue is related to the last delivered iPads, maybe because the last displays are produced by another producer, or because the last displays have some problems. In the first case, the issue could be solved with a software update, but in the second case the issue maybe will be permanent. I have read some posts of some people that had the same problem with the iPad Mini 3 and that say the issue is due to a glue used in the production of the new displays. These people say the issue disappears after some weeks of usage. What do you think about?
